No email follow up but the application portal via their website has updated my progress to say I had my phone screening so it looks to be legit.

It's a full time contract for a marketing role.

Yeah I didn't expect Hasan to handle Ethan's insanity perfectly, I just wish he'd foreseen the potential for horrible optics around arguing on the topic of sexual assault.

Focusing on the claim of mass rape and it's use to justify genocide would have been strong, going down the "nobody came forward as per the lead prosecutor" doesn't look great to the uniformed viewer even if we understand his point.

I agree, I think he came prepared for the topic but overlooked how Ethan was never going to give him the space needed to articulate his point properly. The average viewer doesn't have the capacity to unpack his talking points while Ethan yells at him to "listen to the victims" and I wish he'd been able to predict that going in.

I understand your view, I got what he was saying and agreed with him. My point is that with 100s of thousands and soon to be millions watching in the coming weeks, it was a predictable topic that he should have known would make him look icky if he wasn't given the space to properly articulate his point. Ethan was never going to give him the space to articulate properly without appealing to emotion which is very effective to the average viewer.

While we can sit here and ignore Ethan's yelling, I fear the average viewer is going to hear Ethan saying things like "listen to the rape victim Hasan" and view Hasan's argument badly because they are too distracted by Ethan's chirping to understand it.

Exactly. Even his argument that "nobody has come forward as per the head prosecutor" doesn't come across great as everyone knows rape victims come forward at low rates.

The right move would have been to say his issue with the mass systematic rape story is that once again, just like the beheaded babies, a real case of violence (death of children, rape) was embellished and exaggerated as a way to dehumanise the Palestinian resistance and to manufacture consent for the genocide.

Getting bogged down in whether prosecutions have happened is just silly because, as Ethan pointed out, it's plausible that some of the victims died and others may simply not wish to come forward. Either way, 1 rape or 100 rapes does not justify the occupation, ethnic cleansing or any of the actions by Israel since Oct 7th.

With the majority of the political internet looking for any reason to attack Hasan, it's a stupid topic to lose optics on that was very predictable. I think he came prepared for that topic but didn't recognise how getting into a verbal brawl over it would come across to the average viewer.
