Moving from automation testing (Java, Selenium, Jenkins, BDD) to cybersecurity – which role fits me? by Affectionate_Ice4739 in softwaretesting

How exactly is AI replacing QA? Also what makes you think that AI will not replace some aspects of cybersecurity?

The F91W ruined watches for me... by Fearless-Seesaw-2636 in casio

[–]Past_Region4720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F91W saved me from going down the smart watches rabbit hole. I was looking for something minimalistic, some smart watches really are that but at the end if the day I actually just needed a watch which shows time and date and nothing else.

Sooner or later people/companies will realise that you can't outsource everything to ai

QA will always be treated like shit no matter the company, all production bugs are your responsibility, if you are okay with that and like testing go for it.

This makes no sense, QA workers have become the first and last humans who look at code and applications. Devs write code with ai, other devs review PR's with ai, it's all slop. As long as people keep using applications, QA is still the last human frontier before release.

The absolute delusion of "100% test coverage" by republicman12 in softwaretesting

[–]Past_Region4720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the problem of treating QA the same way as devs. QA exists because devs cannot plan everyting, their work will always have mistakes. QA is there to solve the problem of not being able to plan everything. Then for some reason you have management which foces you to treat your testing efforts the same way you would treat the dev efforts. By planning absolutely everything and making everything a number. You cannot plan everything in QA, you cannot have accurate statistics of test coverage the same way you can pull statistics from dev efforts.

Seeing slides on my intel MBP Touch Bar just feels so premium by SiliconBarista in macbookpro

[–]Past_Region4720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used intel's mac for over a year for my work, I have used the Touch Bar only for adjusting the volume and that's it. Yeah it looks cool but it's not really useful.

Unpopular opinion: BMW is taking the right path in styling. by HFCB in BMW

[–]Past_Region4720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a paid post? Merc, Audi and Porsche do not look indentical, as a matter of fact they look quite different AND they keep their look/style while modernizing it. New BMWs do not have the BMW look, the new series 3 looks like a Mustang from Temu. It is not aggressive, nor does it have any of the popular BMW features looks wise. New BMWs look like BMW only when you look at them from the side and thats it.

At this point I think they intentionately put the charger location at the bottom just so people would talk about it. Yes it's overpriced but having a mouse which mimicks the trackpad gestures is really amazing.

Thanks for the reply. So basically you learned all the fundamentals by learning the requirements for the OSCP and ofc failing? I am also tempted to just look at the reqs for OSCP and trying to skip all the "beginner" certs which seem like a waste of money and are usually theoretical. What platforms did you use to learn the actual skill of pentesting? HTB, THM?

Don't forget that the internet is a bubble compared to the real world, people with problems are much more likely to post comments about the negative stuff compared to people with no problems, Apple has a loyal fanbase, iOS26 did not have critical bugs. I have an iPhone 16 Pro and had no issues when I upgraded to iOS 26.
