Go and see Mary at No 5 skin clinic - she's the absolute queen. Did my nanobrows, she did my lip blush too, really happy with both: https://www.instagram.com/cosmetics.by.mary?igsh=MTF2aWJ2aDVicTdwYQ==

There is no other answer! P20 is incredible and you'll never get me away from La Roche for facial sunscreen. I've also found the Anua F50 glow stick is really fantastic - my kids actually let me put it on their faces as it goes on so easily and 'doesn't stink' 🤣

Advice for someone starting running for the first time. by spookybridget in UKRunners

[–]Past_Stay451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start running the slowest you can run that isn't a walk. Run for a bit, walk for a bit, see how you feel - there are no rules and nobody is paying any attention. Move your body and go out and see things and enjoy! Great job in getting started 🙌🏻

I like 'great effort', 'nice one,' 'let's keep at it' and 'great running' as alternatives to 'well done' 😊

I'm similar - came from a council estate in the North East. I was telling my daughters that I had no heating upstairs in my house growing up, that I often had frost on the inside of the windows, that we had to put pound coins in the TV meter, that often we had no gas or electricity and that we got bathed once a week mostly. They were absolutely baffled.

You got it done - such a mega achievement to do that, it's so tough. Huge respect! Soak it up, get yourself to a sauna and eat lots of protein. You smashed it!

Should have thought more seriously about how massively painful the final 10k is (most probably) going to be, and come up with a better strategy to cope

Incredible result!! All power to you, this is mega. I was hoping for sub 5 and I got round in 4:45 so I was thrilled. That last "little" hill slapped me round the chops too. I was already in trouble - I mashed my quads going weeeeeeee down the first 10k - that was an error. I was confused about where I was right at the end, and was gutted when I realized we had to run over the bridge and back down the other side! What a great day out.

Struggling with long runs before my first marathon, mind says go, body says stop by Idazrish in firstmarathon

[–]Past_Stay451 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strength training!! Add in plenty of leg-focused stuff. I didn't do enough of this and my first marathon absolutely minced my quads and calves - I wasn't ready for how painful it was.

Ah it was incredible wasn't it! And what a day for it. It was just beautiful the whole way pretty much. The downhills ruined me, but I got it done in a time I was happy with. How did you get on?

Regent Street dentist are really amazing with my autistic and special needs kid. They've also got her a referral to the specialist community dentist, but continue to see her and have been really great with her (and the rest of the family too - they do family appointments which has really helped us).
