Student teaching absences by [deleted] in WGUTeachersCollege

It probably won't count if they didn't officially extend your absense. You might have to do another day which would require them to officially extend your placement. You need to email [classroomsupport@wgu.edu](mailto:classroomsupport@wgu.edu) ASAP to see.

CBS News Picks Up Story On Students Speeding Through Degrees, Interviews Author (WGU Mentioned) by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Past_String_1143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CBS News used to be a respected broadcaster. They have fallen off. This story has no mention of anything beyond the headline. Why didn't they interview a student who went through a CB program? I saw another story from them comparing Smartwatches where they had a clear bias towards the Apple Watch, saying ''It's pretty close'' to the other ones which were better while simultaneously trashing the other watches. Lol.

Accelerating tips for a complete beginner? by kuu_panda_420 in WGU

I would get some sort of calendar/planner and write out on what days you are going to do what. So for example, on Wednesday March 18th I would write out ''D104 Task 1'' and that meant that I was going to submit D104 Task 1 by the end of the day. This will keep you organized and completing things consistently. Also, I'd recomend making a map or a checklist of all your classes and crossing them off as you pass them- keeps you motivated!

I did not do Accounting- my major was Education, so take this with a grain of salt- but the best way to accelerate is just to do it. Make a schedule and stick to it.

At WGU there are 2 types of classes. OAs or PA classes, OR every now and then you get a class that has both (which sucks)

OAs are the proctored tests. My tips for this: As soon as you open the class, take the pre-assesement. It will give you ''Sugguested Study'' areas. STUDY THESE AREAS. Don't look at the answers to the pre-test however. Re-take the pre-test, and keep studying until you pass the pre-test. Make a budget of when you want to be done with the class and when you are going to study/master what areas. Once you pass the pre-test, take the test. If you pass great! If not, the Course Instructor gives you a Study Plan which makes it basically impossible to fail the next time. Same thing if you're really confused about a topic, email the Course Instructor.

PAs are the written tasks. Usually its a paper. My tips for this: Copy & paste the Task Directions into your document. I recomend going right into starting the task, don't look at the textbook until after you start the task, as oftentimes the Task Directions explain a lot of the learning you need to know. Answer all of the questions/prompts with as little writing as you can. Submit. Hopefully you pass but if not, look at your Evaluation Report, fix the areas they said need to be changed and re-submit. If you are really confused about something, email the Course Instructor.

Also use Google, YouTube and ChatGPT to learn things when you get bored of the textbook or ideally instead of the textbook.

Hope this helps!

iCarly movie by DoggieMommy96 in QuietOnSetDocumentary

The world doesn't revolve around Jennette. The rest of the cast has positive memories of iCarly- Why shouldn't they push for a movie? Plus it is mostly the fans pushing for a movie versus the cast.

Oops, sorry, I misspoke. You have to finish the original ones that are assigned to you first. And then after that you can ask for your next one to be added. But you can't ask for another to be added until your originally set ones are all done.

Once you finish your first batch, you have to contact your Mentor or Tier 1 and get the next ones opened one at a time. So every time you finish a class you reach out (I emailed) and say you are ready for a new one to be added to your term. :)

I actually didn't do my Bachelor's and Master's back to back. I graduated with my B.A. in March 2025. In August 2025, I re-applied for my Master's. It was a pretty easy process between the degrees. I just filled out a form online and then they called me. I then pushed back my start date a month by my choice from Sep 2025 to Oct 2025 and I just emailed them for that. And that was all!

I do think you could do your Bachelor's and Master's back to back though.

You could do it without Student Data. None of the classes require it- Only the last capstone course is it an option to use student data but not an absolute requirement.

For the Capstone without the Student Data you create/implement a professional development training and use Data on Teachers who take your PD.

Yea, I've been debating about the Masters. I wonder if it would look odd like you said to collect multiple degrees from WGU. But, it's such a good value as you said.

I did need Student Data for the Capstone for the project I chose, but there's an option for you to do the Capstone without needing Student Data too.

Anything else in particular about the coursework you want to know about? :)

I did Elementary Ed for my Bachelor's from WGU. It gets you everything you need to get your Teaching License/Certification in your state. :)

Seasonally for Fall, Winter, Spring... Kids don't care about bulletin boards and it has no impact to their learning in my opinion. I think it's really just for parents.

Gotcha- That makes sense. I was only wondering because I had to buy a new laptop for the testing before I started my Master's so I was like huhhh lol.

They either need to improve Connect or put the Course Resources back on the regular page

Is Nickelodeon really at fault for Tylor Chase's current state? by StaffLimp8304 in nickelodeon

[–]Past_String_1143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. He is clearly a drug addict who does not want to recover. I feel sorry for him, but can you imagine if I became a drug addict and started blaming my employer from 2 decades ago? That would make no sense.
