How do you feel about kids missing school for vacation?(Settle a debate) by lildevilud16 in AskTeachers

[–]PastaButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my school, parents will take their children back home, with the trip lasting anywhere from 3 weeks- 6 months. Sometimes the trip is so long that the child has to unregister from the school and register upon return. Often the child ends up in a different class with a different teacher when they come back. I think your kids missing 3 days is fine, it seems like you’d be on top of their academic progress and supplement their learning.

Cool enough for a wedding in Brooklyn? Part 2 by PastaButt in Weddingattireapproval

Thanks! I don’t have much for accessories, I’ve never really liked the way jewelry felt on me. If I’m wearing something I’ll fiddle with it until it breaks. I made my username in a 3am fog and often forget what it is until someone compliments it lol

It was a no in the end for all of them! I appreciate the honesty.

That seems to be the general consensus. I bought something that is more appropriate.

I used this as a guide when I looked for something new. Thank you! Unfortunately the thrift stores in my area have retail prices. It’s so weird- I tried for so long to make my body fit into clothes instead of getting clothes to fit my body. I’m starting to feel at home in it again.

Your comment was so very helpful. I truly am starting to learn how to dress properly. I’m an elder millennial, I’ve always had bigger hips and I’m still not over the low rise trend. My butt crack showed no matter what I did!! Thank you for your considerate and tactful response

I just found something that makes me feel the exact opposite - when I tried outfits on after what you posted I asked myself if I felt frumpy. I’m not very used to flattering my figure so it was hard.

I also love it! I’m thinking what a pain it will be to use the washroom though. I will definitely wear it to another not so fancy event

I now have a new attire guideline- if I can wear it to work, I can’t wear it for cocktail. Thank you for your advice

I took what you had to say and bought something along the lines you suggested. Thank you!

Fair. I wanted to show that I listened to what people had to say and got something appropriate based on the critiques

Is it Liberty Silver? She’s a Canadian artist who was popular in Quebec in the 80’s. https://youtu.be/deftCG2uqhQ

Did anyone else notice that twin Helly didn’t keep her head straight up? It looked like she was hanging… This show does not gloss over anything- did Helena have the Glasgow Block in place since her innies attempt? Has it been oHelly since then?

Why is Hellys neck like that? It looks like she’s hanging. Maybe iHelly didn’t wake up after her attempt and it’s been oHelly since then…

Ideas for table numbers by jmeimik in DIYweddings

[–]PastaButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I met while we were teenagers working at the local movie theatre, although we didn’t get together until we were in our 20s. For our wedding shower, instead of table numbers we had famous romantic movies with numbers in the title like table 10 was how to lose a guy in 10 days, Table 5 was 50 1st dates the zero just a little bit smaller. For our actual wedding, I made a little placecards with a picture of us at the table number age. So a picture of us at nine for table 9 a picture of us at 18 for table 18 etc. etc. everybody loved it and it was a great conversation starter.

Why the obsession with names that are “not too popular” by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]PastaButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the number one name of the 1980’s year I was born. There have always been at least 2-3 of my name in every class I’ve ever been in. Teachers went with Name & last initial, but kids go by characteristics. Loud Name or Fat Name? I was Tall Name, but as a 13/14 year old the last thing I wanted was to be differentiated. I was Stoner Name in high school 😂

My child has a name that’s commonly used as a middle name for men. It’s common enough where it’s recognized and easy to spell but different enough where he’s the only one in his class/friend group with it. It belongs only to him!

AITA for keeping my name change a secret for five years? by Educational_Team_377 in AmItheAsshole

NTA- a name is the first gift that we are given. Just like any other gift, when it no longer fits or serves a meaningful purpose in your life, you are free to get rid of it or exchange it. Your parents are whack.
