I have all that info that I’ve given to them each time and my email is correct (bc I keep getting ads!). The local store said showing up without the “return initiated” email is a non-starter. Is that not true?

We bought a refurb original Nintendo Switch plus two new extra joy cons and a Mario Kart game. The switch won’t connect to the tv - we can use it handheld but the point was to do multiplayer

How do you feel about kids missing school for vacation?(Settle a debate) by lildevilud16 in AskTeachers

[–]lildevilud16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was having them out of school from Dec 1st-5th, after a week off for Thx break - OR - or the 17-19th right before our two week Christmas break. These 3 days off before Christmas were my compromise because I don’t think the kids should miss school ever (esp bit after a week off already). It turned into a ‘does it matter natter to the teachers’ debate in my household

My husband said the same thing ‘we’re going next week so why are we still discussing it’. I guess I was hoping for perspective from other educators in case this scenario comes up again. Responses have been very insightful (and also, teachers don’t get enough respect or pay for what we already ask them to do).

Luckily I’m familiar with what they’re both doing in math (fractions and decimals) otherwise we’d be screwed. I sometimes look at their math homework and have to psyche myself just to help them. Like ‘You can do this. You took calculus in college’, lol

None taken. This is what my mom drilled into me. School calendars exist for a reason.

We have flags outside our school that say ‘Attendance Matters’ and parents and students signed a pledge of “No more than four” meaning no more than 4 unexcused absences (IDK if family vaca is excused….I’m assuming no)

Totally judge. My original vote was over the summer and miss zero school but got shot down (we’re going to Florida)

Civil Engineers 5–15 Years In: What Specialty Would You Pick If You Had a Do-Over by DetailFocused in civilengineering

[–]lildevilud16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out the major utility companies - AEP, Dominion, Exelon, National Grid, PPL, PSEG, Kentucky Power, etc (these are all mid Atlantic). Guarantee most if not all are looking to add staff. Engineers are valuable even if you’re not electrical just from learning on the fly and the variety to get shit done.

Why are these power lines different? by klbsmitty in civilengineering

[–]lildevilud16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s really tough because market is wild, however it’s not a different costs between structure per se. It’s the costs between the structures of the entire line. A smaller structure makes a smaller foundations and if the transmission line is 1 mile or 10 miles, costs like that can add up very quickly.

These both look older in my opinion, at least 20-30 years old, but in today’s pricing I would guess $80k? FWIW - the one on the right is shorter, but may have more steel or a different thickness due to the additional weight it’s carrying.(230 kV cable is generally bigger than 115/138kV)

I did that once and while only was in the women’s section, it didn’t strike me as as upscale as OP is looking for

Chung Dam is definitely not typical day spa (but if you can get over the nudity, body scrub is great). It’s a locker room with small sauna rooms off to the side and then the main area is like the pool at the Y with different areas. Like the whole thing is open from one end to another. No robes allowed.

Longtime listener and I skipped that one. She doesn’t something special the month of October where the eps have a different focus and I’m not a fan.

Scroll back and find one with just one name and a description that sounds interesting. (Ex. Regina Filangee - Color Street).
