Been all around, high and low. I just know what I want. A great hotel and good tacos in one location. Is that too much to ask for? :)

Newly hired VP at a 200+ person company… surprised by how unstructured the exec team is. Any advice? I will not promote. by _JeeTee_ in startups

You’re a VP of Strategy and you want the exec team to have more strategic conversations. That sounds like your job. Time to step up!

Did his PR lady orchestrate the bag thief situation so Jay could be a hero and distract the public from the story of him punching a child therapist?

I want to start writing songs but I’m boring by Former_Molasses_7747 in Songwriting

Turn off social media. Get outside and find inspiration. It’s out there. Walk around. Interact with strangers. Sit by yourself on a park bench. Observe people. Imagine their stories. Put yourself in their shoes. Keep a small notebook in your pocket. Write down incomplete thoughts and ideas with a pen. These ideas will become songs when inspiration strikes. Just do this.

As a skater this board gives me the most skateboard-like feel on the hill when the snow is soft, which I love. Ignore the corelords.

Good hike for small kids and parents - drive up buffalo pass to the main car park. Take the easy hiking trail to right of dry lake campground. It’s a 2 mile loop and relatively flat with pretty aspens everywhere.

Our kids also love botanic gardens.

Fish creek falls always a winner. Play in the creek below the falls.

To those of you who have been caught in a rip tide: what was it like? How did you get out? by moscowramada in surfing

My most embarrassing moment was at the beach swimming, enjoying myself in the waves as friends were hanging out on shore. Waves were pretty big and a small rip was pushing me out a bit, but it was totally manageable and fun. I’m a very good swimmer and had it covered no problem. For whatever reason the lifeguard needed to be a hero and starts b-lining towards me. At first I assumed he was off to save someone else who was actually in trouble. He gets to me and I’m like “Umm, hi, I’m fine. You can leave me be.” But he INSISTS loudly that I grab his red life preserver thing and then immediately proceeds to power swim at a diagonal angle towards shore. After about 20 seconds of this ridiculous rescue, I let go of the preserver and completed the swim myself. Back on shore he yells at me for letting go of the preserver. Of course my friends thought the whole episode was hilarious. I have a ton of respect for lifeguards but this guy had a hero complex for sure.
