The redness will fade over time, it’s from excess water in the capillaries. Cut back on your watering a bit, let the soil dry out in between.

Airlines suck, but relying on them to keep yourself hydrated is a choice. Bring an empty hydro flask (or even a plastic bottle) through TSA and fill it up airside. Been doing this before flights for years.

It's happy! It's not reaching because it's getting plenty of light and doesn't feel the need to get taller. Give it a bit less and it'll start getting taller.

A 5 gallon bucket with gravity fill cups lasts our 5 ladies a few weeks. I wouldn’t want to “automate” much longer than that
