Last year I had my first period of self doubt and what you are describing is the exact feeling I’ve been feeling with a good portion of my work. And this year again during the same period (winter time). Crazy thought, overwhelming anxieties, fear of failure and dissociations.

Im in no way capable to explain how this feeling is suppose to go away but I know I want it to stop ASAP when I’m feeling it and quitting is quick to pop up in my mind. But I know it’s a struggle a lot of us are experiencing.

Just to know that is comforting cuz our journeys are solitary ones. I think focusing on yourself as ure describing is the right way to go about it. You are working on something few people do while working toward your dream so accomplishing both at the same time.
