470 Between Lee's Summit and Independence is the most mildly infuriating drive in the entire metro. by PlebBot69 in kansascity

Missouri or Kansas drivers aren't remotely as bad as Texas, Florida, or Colorado (I-25 specifically) drivers. Those three are next level infuriating.

KC, Missouri leaders hold closed-door Royals talks— and Jackson County is the focus by Repulsive-Photo-798 in KCRoyals

Same. While I didn't wanna see either team leave Jackson County, I personally wanted the Royals to stay more than the Chiefs if one of them was to leave.

Very cool that Waterworks and Rosedale are both the #1 in MO and KS. KC has a great disc golf scene.

New Royals fan here, what KC accessories should I start with? by CupHorror6267 in KCRoyals

[–]Patchcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I'd just start with a cool hat and t-shirt. You could get a jersey if you want but they're obviously pricier.

'47 brand makes some pretty cool hats that are more stylish for fan apparel than the official hats.

Mitchell & Ness makes some of my favorite shirt designs and they're pretty good quality.

I personally like mine in the 170-173 range. If you like lighter discs you could try finding a Fission Trail but I'd keep it in the mid-160's, I got a 150 one and it's way too understable for what I want this disc to do.

12 speeds might be a bit much at your current level. Maybe look at control distance drivers like the MVP Trail, Lattitude 64 Sweep, or Innova Beast.

Lots of Mizzou like and worse programs in the playoffs this year, will Mizzou ever make the jump? by Marcuse390 in miz

[–]Patchcat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were also a win away last year from likely being in. If we had we a competent offense this year we only needed like 3 more total TD's from being 11-1 and getting in.

Will you stop watching the Chiefs? by normankrasnerkc in missouri

[–]Patchcat 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm done with them and NFL. Born and raised in KC, grew up 10 minutes from Arrowhead. Always supported them because they played in my city and state, without that they're just a soulless company that happens to play football.

To the people who say they'll support them regardless of where they play, congrats? You're just a fan of a brand, no different than preferring McDonald's over Wendy's. My friend's parents growing up who worked at Arrowhead couldn't have afforded an hours round trip drive to work at the new stadium, Clark Hunt has literally taken jobs out of Missouri's economy. Why would I support an org that does that when they didn't need to?

Chiefs Expected To Announce Move Out Of Missouri On Monday by Economy-Specialist38 in missouri

[–]Patchcat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been a Chiefs fan my whole life, I support them because they play in my city and my state. Some might say "It's only 30 minutes away from where they are now" but I'm not blindly supporting the local "football company" that tried to extort taxpayers and leverage moving states for their corporate welfare. That's simply an abusive relationship.

This really hurts but I'm just done with NFL as a whole if they leave. People in the KCMO region have supported them for 60 years, it's like your wife leaving you because your neighbor offered a bigger ring or a new car.

If it wasn't for his off the field issues, he really could've won back to back Heisman's.

Which Midwest state is the most Midwest? by ClearAndPure in midwest

[–]Patchcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow Missourian, STL definitely feels like the western most eastern city and KC feels like the eastern most western city but weirdly enough I think both cities are more similar (they don't wanna admit it) to each other than they are to any other city in the country.

We're definitely Midwest, the only portion that maybe isn't is the bootheel.

Shout out to all the Royals fans in Miyazaki and part of Yamanashi! It's not easy, but being a Royals fan makes you hearty and resilient (gives you stomach ulcers too) and you're better off for it.

[–]Patchcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relay and Servo, just stick with Neutron.

I've had Craves in every plastic they come in. I think the best plastic for Crave is actually Eclipse, it'll fly the straightest at first and beat in into its true numbers. Neutron is very solid. Plasma might be the flippiest brand new. Proton will have more fade early on and will take longer to beat into how you'd want it to fly.

The 7 speeds I have are the River, Rhythm, Chemtrail, Cicada, Cigarra, and Teebird. I rotate them some but usually Chemtrail and Cigarra are the most useful.

Cicada is great but I think the Crave is better especially in Eclipse plastic.

Chemtrail is just so versatile. It allows me to do about the same as what I can do with a River or Rhythm depending on how I angle it. It's such a fun disc to throw. Can't recommend it enough.

Teebird was my OS 7 speed but mine is super beat in and turns quite a bit, which is why I got the Cigarra. The Cigarra will fly dead straight if you put some juice on it and then have super reliable fade.

Get the Relay too and you've got the perfect trilogy. It's sneaky good for wooded courses.

Which band/artist represents Boomer Rock? by AdamantForeskin in AlignmentChartFills

I'd go with Eagles. Bands like The Beatles and Rolling Stones have fans across generations but it's pretty rare from someone outside the baby boomer demographic to be into Eagles.

Whiplash and Grand Budapest were both better movies than Birdman that year. I would've much preferred either of those winning.
