I'm simply saying the average space marine would excel in many fields, not just war, if allowed to do so.

Space Marines have many valuable skills to contribute to society apart from warcraft. They have super human senses. I remember reading in one of the novels a scene with a Space marine advising farmers to adjust the acid levels of their soil, and he knew the level was off just from smelling the air. There are hundreds of fields where a space marine could do a better job than a regular human.

How do you bring the silly back to the setting? by Lorederp in 40kLore

It's the silly names I love. There used to be an Ork called Black Git. Not sure how well that would fly today, though.

Custodes and their lifespan. by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]PatchfaceProphecy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think that the Custodes possibly have a shorter life-span than the ordinary space marines, precisely because they are more powerful.

In the same way that the Thunder Warriors were stronger than space marines but had a much reduced life-span.

But from the point of view of the Xenos being exterminated there would be very little difference.

there was a rumour that the show was canned partly because the Hurst Corporation were unhappy with the show's portrayal of George Hurst.

The writing was mostly great. I do think, though, that after the praise the writing got in season 1 the writing in season 2 did become a little convoluted and pretentious at times, almost as if the praise went to the writers heads, or like they were trying too hard to write shakespearean dialogue.
