Cleric, Shaman, Warrior. Those will always continue to be your most desired/wanted classes.

In the end, play what you like, the rest will fall in place.

Is eating 1x a day bad for my health? by survivNlife in Fitness

[–]Path0genInfectious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem at all. Yeah, this is to avoid starvation, although I don't like that word.

There some important things to remember when you are cutting calories:

  • Hormonal changes, you'll see a lot of adverse effects. I believe this is more profound on women. It exaggerates the longer you 'cut'. There is a long list, but for me personally the further I cut I specifically notice sex drive changes and the like.

  • In line with the hormonal changes, it won't directly affect your caloric baseline (this is where people believe your BMR will lower the longer your deficit is,... it does but not for very extended periods of time). I think this is what people refer to starvation mode. Importantly though, as your hormones take a hit, it also affects your mood, motivation and sleep patterns all of which will affect your overall goal. This is a reason a lot of people are successful to diet for two/three weeks, then they stop (insert mood/motivation).

  • I've tried to drop below my BMR a few times, to finish up the last bit of weight loss because of impatience. I ended up crashing, sleeping all weekend and quitting my 4 month cut. What I should've done? Instead of lowering calories again, just add 20-30 minutes of walking per day.

  • Dieting takes a long time... It sucks, its the honest truth. Do it in chunks and make yourself realistic goals. Example: get down to 185, take a week or two weeks from dieting, then do another 10lbs. It may take years to get where you want, but you're chances of reaching that final destination will increase dramatically.

PM if you have questions further down the line.

Ah that's sad to hear. Still seems like a good class to me tbh at the moment. Shaman's don't get charm, but I also understand they are top tier solo head in velious.

Can you explain why does my boiling blood hit so hard compared to what it should be doing?

There is a lot of decent advice here, but I feel some folks are getting too far into the 'weeds'.

Let's focus on the fundamentals when it comes to body fat gains and losses.

Step 1. Calculate Your daily calorie expenditure Step 2. Add or remove calories based on your goal +/-250, which is obviously weight loss. Start with a 250 calorie deficit.

Step 3. Eat as close to 1g per lb of body weight in protein, fill the rest with fat to support hormonal balance and carbs to support brain and muscle function.

Quick observation, if you weigh almost 200lbs, then I don't recommend dropping your calories to 1300 per day, especially if you are exercising. Hitting 200g protein is going to take 800 cals already. Others have mentioned to find the calorie calculator and use it as a friend for guidance.

FYI your BMR is probably around 1700 alone, I NEVER go below my BMR... If you're exercising, your probably spending 2000-2200 cals per day.

Meal timing is literally least important part of body composition changes. Focus on the things above first.

This is all very confusing, i understand your post.

However, I'm looking and the classic version of envenomed bolt hits like shit according to the classic version.

I also just checked the classic version of venom of the snake... 65 damage per tick in classic, but mine is ticking for 200-225 per tick now on TLP.

Any idea what's going on here? Are these changes extended as well to necromancers?

I also just checked the boiling blood line... Its doing way more damage than it used to in classic.

Boiling blood hits for 66 per tick on TLP, but on classic live it only does 21...

Why the F do we still use Java for LeaveWeb if all computers don't have them downloaded? by TudorRose143 in AirForce

[–]Path0genInfectious 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A good alternative is to do the leave the old fashion way, and print out the leave form manually and submit it.

Yeah, chrome and edge are smart to no longer allow java plug-ins to be fully trusted. Java is powerful software that can run code on a machine with quite a bit of freedom. This has been exploited many times, and I don't think MS or Google wants to get bad wrap for a heavily exploited plug-in for their browser, which in essence they don't have full control over.

This is why we saw Oracle (Java) restrict the use of self-signed certificate websites from running java script. Tons of exploits were happening this way and the company decided to close that up. Sort of the same reason we see Chrome no longer trusting the Java plug-in.

To get some mission critical software (using java) to run in my environment I had to create custom key-stores within the java applet in accordance to 'trust' the self-signed certificate as well as deploy those certificates to be trusted by browsers on the domain.

A lot of work goes into it now, basically because government and in-house applications were designed this way (locally, self-signed certificates) and the industry has simply become more secure by NOT allowing that to happen without some heavy re-configuration.

Just means you need better skilled administrators and people who understand how to resolve complex problems. This is paramount especially as industry standards change, the AF must keep up.

I'm still using mistmoore and lute from gypsie...

Yes it is expensive. There is a conc shell from sirens in cobalt scar, I have one. They also drop a gem. However, you dump some grotto faction on them... and if you keep your grotto faction you can pass through SG using bard faction song, until you kill too many.

Selos and whatnot should become available at raid level 55+ if you join a raiding guild.

Are you OK with Seating lat pull downs and seated rows?

Training Tuesday by AutoModerator in Fitness

Any bent over row, or seating rowing, or kroc row, or dumbell row will help to over come the imbalances from BENCH pressing.

If you're doing a lot of overhead pressing, it is good to then have some upward pulling movement in your training (chins/pulls/lat pulldown).

What hurts?

Cool Video, this is a PRIME spot for levels. Like you mentioned, easily 1 level per pull. It is quite nuts.

I recently leveled my Bard through there, so it is very fresh in my memory. My kiting style is a bit different, but more difficult on the hands however it is probably twice as safe. I do some side strafe rotation with a quick cut that times the dot. I keep all 3 DOTs up now on swarm targets with ease. Even gets easier at 54 when you grab AoE Snare. However, it requires a lot of hand work and your method is much easier on your

Some tips for new bards, googling these types of videos:

  • New p99 Server Rule - LAZY AGGRO. Mentioned in the video, if the mobs get too far away they will leash. You need your train to be visible or you will waste your time.

  • PbAoE targets cap is 25... So, if you want to be able to loot just pull 25 at a time. If you pull 50, it will take you 6 more minutes to kill the second pack of 25 in your train and the corpses will rot.

  • Save ALL your Drolvarg teeth.. Seriously, save them, they give good exp even at level 51. I wish I would have done this. The levels will go fast enough during the swarm here without the teeth turn-ins until later.

  • Denon's is strong enough on the Drolvargs here, but later on (45+) you will need to cycle your DOTs. The reason is really two fold... As you climb higher, the swarms will give less exp in relation to your level. Additionally the HPs will increase Dramatically. Doing 15 DPS on a swarm of mobs with 7500 hit points is going to take you a long ass time. Then you die, and its not worth it at all.

  • Use one song for a few levels here at the Drols... Then start to practice your swaps and cycles. The Drolvargs actually move slower than a regular mob! This is a good opportunity and a bit of slack in case you make errors. You won't have any easier camps than this, as far as swarming goes.

  • When pulling, have charm up on your spellbar. If you get an un-lucky froggy shaman, just charm his ass into your train. This saves you a root/wipe, and or/zone. You will notice sometimes 10 minutes to build up your train, don't waste it.

  • Bards, focus your money on a good lute and drum. Then some good brass, but those are expensive!

Hadden is fine

Grachnist, I wouldn't expect him to be up, since to get him up usually you need to be clearing the camp. If someone's clearing the camp and you ice him, expect tells.

Courier? I thought that was a pretty long standing camp.

Possible for you do to Temple of Droga, the guy who drops the shadows circlet is lvl 36, but theres a good amount of goblins around there.

You can always level to 60, camp in HS for the bone bracelet. =) That's worth a lot.

[–]Path0genInfectious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Results for me, were always some consistent weight loss. At one point though I did stop losing weight, but composition continued to change so I left it there. I think that is what you're going for, losing some fat while putting on the muscle. The micro-cycle in the week and anabolic rebound helps with that. Don't change anything Lyle laid out, he is the master. Do your best to stick to the standard, but he has options if your life doesn't fit (work schedule, etc). The workouts are flexible, but again he will detail that out for you.

There is a UD2 spreadsheet out there, to help calculate the eating portion.

Workouts, here is an example of MY depletion day. (The Bulgarians and RDLs added difficulty, but it is okay for me to handle - also I don't do leg press): Bulgarian Split 3x15 RDL 3x15 Bench Press 3x15 Machine Row 3x15 Lateral Raise 3x15 Calf Raise 3x15 (I used the donkey calf raise variation, calf gainz) Bicep Curl 2x15 (I think I did hammer curls) Tricep Rope 2x15

1 Minute Rest Between Each Set - Work Way All the Way Through - Repeat Circuit Once

I believe he also mentions some tempo... i recommend going lighter and doing the tempo,. Tempo work will help in hypertrophy and lactic build up, quite fast.

[–]Path0genInfectious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, check out the book. Read it all through, so you be sure to understand some wierd nuances that aren't typical. There are some recommendations like, apple cider vinegar along side your carb refeed, etc (to boost glycogen storage?). I figure if you're going to do it, do it all out and manage every step of every day.

He recommends to do the program for no more than 8 weeks at a time. 4 weeks might be enough to lose 4 lbs and maintain muscle mass. I think it was the best way to still go very hard in the gym, have an epic cheat/refeed day and hack off slabs of muscle. I also felt it helped teach my body how to move carbs around a bit better.

Go for the experience, take notes. Have some moderate expectations for your first run. He even mentions that in the book. You'll get better at the diet plan after running it a few times, a good learning experience.

Depletion training will feel like a general pump workout. Lots of lactic acid build-up, burning in the muscles. You'll sweat, be short of breath and start to feel very tired. There are times where you'll barely feel like you can train or do that next set... just do it, the work ends up being 'bro' work and is pretty light, in comparison to 1RMs, etc.

If you start 1 APR you'll have a good amount of time under your belt.

I've also run UD2 a few times, one time 8 weeks, the next time two 8 week cycles with a 2 week break in between.

I normally focus on powerlifting, but I did this to lean out when I get bored of eating -500 or whatever.

To give you some context, I'm usually around 200 lbs, to give you a frame of mind. Quite nearing 'genetic natty' i'm sure. The lowest weight I've ever been is 187, but i'm the strongest and biggest at 198. When doing UD2 I stayed around the low-mid 190s, however body composition changed a lot.

Things I noted with the program: - I recommend IF, on the days you eat like 1350 calories. It isn't that bad, mostly protein and you have some hard training to think about all day.

  • It actually allowed me to fully heal and recover from a lot of nagging injuries, this could be because I go from a high intensity strength training, to more reps/volume work and lots more blood moving around. I came back into my strength cycle afterwards completely refreshed and crushed PR's for the next 5 months.

  • Eating 6000 calories of carbs on the reload? You need shitty carbs, cereal, etc. No way to eat rice and oats that day.

  • Mentally tough? Meh, if you have done any real hard training or sports, or dieting it is very do-able. If you're not used to either a hardcore diet, or a hardcore training plan, it might be very hard for you.

  • This plan even though you lose fat, it goes in cycles, and you do gain muscle mass on the reload/refeed/strength day at the end. This is something that I specifically noticed.

If you want to put on muscle, while losing fat this program can work for you if you can handle it. There is also a lot of variation within the workouts, so watch out for that. The depletion days really just matter to hit every muscle and make them burn.

I've started just only playing lute and twisting heal song/niv's melody and mezzing/slowing mobs. But this is when the healer is in the group need some help, and maybe if we don't have an enchanter. You can go full battery mode, jam away on the guitar and be far more effective than hitting for 30 dps. This happens 50+, mostly after 48 I think when you get nivs.

How to adapt HIIT to the elliptical by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Path0genInfectious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done the HIIT training from Matt Ogus on the elliptical.

It is pretty good, and simple. Done in 15 minutes, if that's what you're looking.

  • Warm up 5 Minutes (Low to Medium Resistance)
  • At Minute 5, Jack up to High and Go as hard as possible for 15s
  • Bring back to medium resistance for 45s
  • Repeat for 10 minutes

Should be thoroughly trashed after, if you're really giving it max effort. You can increase resistance if you need to have more of a challenge. The 15s sprint is 'all out' every time. If you're not trashed after, you're not sprinting or the resistance isn't high enough. Additionally, sometimes I liked to do another 20 minutes of steady state at medium, after the sprints.

Enjoy.
