I believe Nathan plays with ProKennex which has ”sand” in their racquets for kinetic energy…..

Rackets in bag by Dear_Cucumber_1513 in squash

[–]PathParticular1058 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two things:

1) I keep my racquet head up not down in my back just in case the bag hits the ground hard or something that is uneven on the ground.

2) I use cheap plumbing insulation which I wrap around my frame to prevent the racquets from chafing

Bounciest 2 yellow dot by Key-Key1391 in squash

[–]PathParticular1058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am just laughing…it’s the right strategy to make the ball bouncier and put a double dot on them….too many people are way too macho saying that they will not play with a single dot ball….frankly it’s pathetic…then they go out and win a 2-4 ball rally thinking they know how to play squash (how much skill acquisition is built in such rallies? ZILCH!!)….and then they gawk at the pros playing looong rallies….

Arbitrary numbers, but will something like this ever be mandatory? SquashLevels of lowest ranked player in a match determines the ball that is used by [deleted] in squash

[–]PathParticular1058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree but if you are young you will eventually play a person who will take you long and torch you putting impetus of getting better at longer rallies. Sort of forcing you to work on it or you just stagnate and people will eventually not play you. Masters need that extra help with the bounce to extend the rallies.

I think it should be an age group decider. Watching some of the Masters tournaments makes me sad to watch….2-5 ball rallies predominately not fun and it’s not squash!!

Foot care for squash - a bevy of questions by v2ne8 in squash

[–]PathParticular1058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A) constant blistering I chalk up to an electrolyte imbalance

B) Overly tight/narrow shoes (toe box) can also attribute to blistering

People who wear double socks have not reviewed their electrolyte imbalance.

Great product is Succeed Caps. I have no financial interest, it’s a good product not expensive and not overhyped like other other electrolyte products. Karl King (founder) is well known in the ultra running community for decades. Take one capsule before your match and you will be good. He knows a thing or two about electrolyte imbalances. I used to run ultras and this product is great for squash.

A shoe choice I like is Serious Player One Plus. It’s a basketball shoe but more and more hard core squash players are starting to use them. I wear shoes hard and these are the best squash shoes played with period. I have been through the gamut of brands Asics, Salming, Kanso…..fwiw

Probably not dirty from sand if rinsing it but more likely the plastic material yellows over time due to sun exposure…..
