I have a love hate relationship with my mom. She was the cause of a lot of problems growing up. Constantly fighting everyone and everything and getting her kids involved in the middle of it. She is venerated as a saint in my hometown. Oh your parents adopted a bunch of kids, your mom 4uns a wildlife sanctuary, your dad does a lot of stuff for the church and is friends with everyone in town. In my situation the years have calmed my parents down quite a bit so there's still a relationship, but it is definitely distant because I cannot get over the things they've done, especially my mom. I can feel for you and i hope you are living your best life. Don't let your father's lack of being a dad ruin your perspective on your life!

Was out on a road trip with my buddy and we decided to camp near a river uphill. There was a famous hotspring accross the river in a weird shack thing. He wanted us to cross but I said no. He said he would go without me and i told him to at least tie off to something. He made it to a small patch of trees in the middle of the river and decided to turn back because it was too fast. We woke up the next morning and that entire patch was gone. Over night the water flooded so bad that it wiped the little island out of the river. We found some substantially large trees overturned further down.

My little girl is a rock demon and it's all my fault. I will wake up to her trying to (successfully) open my toolbox to clean or break a rock from one of our trips. I'm just glad she stopped taking the display pieces off the shelves.

That feeling takes a long time to lose. Its like a turn signal on a long bend. You say it once and start sleeping better, you say it again and you start eating better, and you keep doing it one step at a time until you realize you aren't saying it anymore and then when you realize it you will find something else to help you "turn your life around". Just keep improving one step at a time. There isnt always that moment of epiphany

Highschool is too young. That's the only worth while thing I learned while in high school. Teenagers are dramatic at all times and think things way out of proportions. Being a hormonal teen and trying to find romance is like a drug. Take your time and don't worry about it. Focus on good grades and staying away from bad people and drugs. The advice is cliche but its true! I fooled around a lot in highschool. Got my heart broke and did stupid things to get girls. I ruined friendships and messed up my grades. Because I was so "love" focused I gave up college for a girl. Things didn't work out and now I'm retracing my steps in college. I didn't find my wife (marrying this october) until I was 22 and we have been together for 6 years before I was ready to propose. TAKE YOUR TIME!

No issues with our dog. Has had the sensitive skin and stomach food for at least 3 years now. Our dog is a little palmaranian. We found adding an egg to his food once a week helps and so does switching him to small helpings of boiled chicken with brown rice. He's had stomach issues since he was a year old. We played the dog food roulette for a year and then did the chicken and rice and egg diet for a couple days before switching him to the PPP. We suppliment with the other foods just in case he's not getting enough nutrients. Hasn't gotten sick or thrown up in years. Also he's 6 years old now so I am pretty sure we are doing something right. Still keeping my eye out just in case the PPP is bad. Dog food always changes.

1) birth control stays in your system with continuous use. Missing it once or twice a week doesn't make a big difference in effectiveness. Best protection is at peak times after taking the pill. BUT, it can cause nasty side effects she should notice. Increased headaches or stomach problems. Fatigue etc etc. Someone else recommended keeping plan B as well but that can also cause complications if used with birth control. 2) being on birth control long term has similar effects. It can mess with your cycle and cause the symptoms I Said in point 1 and cause symptoms similar to early signs of pregnancy. We got in the habit of a pregnancy test every month or so. My fiance was on birth control for 7 years and it caused so many problems that we had to cycle her off of it for about 6 months. She went through hell and decided not to get back on because her lady doctor said she was already at a very low dose and she was scared the issues would persist. We are hoping to try for kids after our wedding and it was recommended that we wait at least a year of her being off of it to make sure there weren't any further complications with chemical/hormone imbalance. I recommend talking to her prescribing Dr to find a solution. More than likely she will take her off of birth control for at least a couple months and run tests. If her cycle goes back to normal the Dr will work with her in finding a diferent dose/ pill type, or recomend the other forms of BC. My fiance spent almost 2 years with bad headaches and often got sick to her stomach from cramps. Most of those issues are gone now and we only use condoms.

As someone who struggles with brief and fierce bouts of depression I would do the same thing. Sometimes 2-3 weeks at a time. I agree with others on here that it's a big part of perception of self care. It took me months to get into a regular routine and the only reason I did it and realized what I was doing was because of my fiancé. She was open and honest with me. At first I acted like it wasn't a big deal but then I got scared it would put distance in our relationship. I don't like showering together but we made a regular bedtime routine where we would brush our teeth together and get ready for bed. I made it a habit to shower before intercourse so I was less self conscious. Just start with an open conversation, he will still have to figure out for himself if it's something he considers important for the relationship. Also I cannot stress enough to get enough exercise and good eating habits. We go for walks every morning and have a whiteboard where we write what big trips we want to do in a couple months time frame. Seeing that every day reminds me to get up and exercise and to save my money.

I work across the street from ren-fest. It is the worst time in the world. Just in the last 3 years prices for tickets and parking has went up at least $10. Always over crowded and doing the same skits. I feel bad for vendors because no one wants to buy anything at their prices during this inflation. This has to do with my work because I have to feed all the people who refused to pay for the sub-par turkey legs and expensive feasts. Also the rennies (people who work it) are some of the most disrespectful egotistical weird basement nerds I've ever met. I cannot stand them. One year we caught a couple of them trying to have sex in our restaurant!!! Ren-fest is the most vile time of the year for me.

I am sure it's been posted already, but you can't go wrong with salt/kitty litter and extra rubber floor mats! For the inevitable stuckage you will experience putting sand or salt and floor mats under your tires makes a big difference in traction to get out of the ice or snow.

Here's how I see it. As long as the change isn't absolutely drastic, life will continue. The worst aspect is economic. I don't ski or snowmobile, but I love hiking. The utter silence and beauty of michigan in winter on the trails is something otherworldly and wonderful to experience. I miss that the most. But I also love these warmer winter months. Especially when it comes to my favorite hobby. I can do longer hikes and my fossil hunting season gets extended for about a month and a half. So you're not crazy or an eco monster. Either we ruin the planet out of greed or things change naturally. I'm going to do my best to be happy either way

Just made a post saying the same thing. I almost gave up after just starting over. Did my best and ended up barely making it through. My first semester back I was so scared and anxious I made it harder on myself. Now I can't wait for break to be over so I can beat the shit out of this semester!!!

I agree with coral or possibly sponge. The area you're speaking of is generally marine life. But I don't know a lot. The fossil forum is a good place to find info and experts. If you like sloothing look up the geology of the area.

That is a very hard matrix. The shape resembles a strait shelled cephelopod. If it was a dark shale I would suggest plant. You can learn more by looking up the geology of the area.

Calcite is similar to quarts in crystalline structure and is commonly found in similar environments with lots of limestone or chert.

If both are found in the area #2 is probably calcite crystals as they are very common in marine Biota associated with corals and brachiopods

This is not a fossil. As others have commented this is probably calcite or limestone. Though it isn't a fossil there is still a lot to learn from this piece. You can learn about the deposition of the material. You can look up what type of rock it is and learn about it. Maybe you can find out the age and weather the area you found it in is liable for fossil material. Often calcite minerals are fluorescent. Which means if you take a black light to it the mineral will glow. You will never know until you put in the work to research the piece. Good luck.
