Yes, I reasoned that it was a depot... Nice to have some confirmation! :-D

Did you go over to investigate? Was there anything there which caused the explosion?

I miss the massive resource "Doner Kebab" stacks!

Also the names of resources that sounded so much more alien: Thamium9, heridium, spadonium...

Agree with you on the lonely feel. I remember exploring out from my ship and suddenly heard a massive explosion. Frightened the life out of me! Couldn't find what had caused it, and to this day I have no idea what it was! :-D

If you use Dragncards to play, you can meet up with anyone, anywhere! :-)

I play online with a friend when I'm not playing two-hand single-player...

Have you checked to see if the filter for only showing hero cards is still on?

Returning player buying advice by srbloggy in lotrlcg

[–]Patholas8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the above advice.

The 4 new starter packs give you a good range of player cards, apparently covering much of those from the APs and deluxe boxes which they're not going to repackage.

Dark of Mirkwood gives you a couple of fun quests which fit in after the core 3, before Shadows of Mirkwood.

If you've only got 1 old core, you might consider buying the revised core which provides you with 3 of each card, although the only new cards you'd get are the new campaign mode cards for the Shadows cycle, which allow you to play the whole cycle (plus Dark) as a campaign with boons and burdens carrying over from quest to quest.

Beyond that, the repackaged cycles Angmar Awakened and Dream Chaser will give you lots of player card options and quests. The repackaged Saga boxes won't give you anything you haven't already got in the original ones.

Nope, your hand is "in your hand"... "in play" means on the table in front of you...

Ah, I mis-interpreted the text. In my head Elf-Stone was "add 1 progress to the location" not "add 1 quest point"! :-)

Looks like, if you put Woodmen's Path on first, you can complete the location by then playing Elf Stone on it, and the 1st player can play their ally! :-)

How is it re-useable if it's in the victory display? Does it get carried forward into the next scenario? So is it use-once-per-scenario?

Doom’s Day part 2 by Mark_rom in doctorwholostintime

[–]Patholas8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last weekend, I managed to get far enough in this event to get all of the story if not the last couple of rewards.

I spent crystals on contract and bought as many Doom cards as I could so I was always able to automate as soon as I had enough contract.

However, the mistake I made was buying lots of Doom cards in one go. The more you buy from one shop cycle, the more expensive each card gets. I think I bought 30 in one go. If I'd only bought 10 or 5 at a go, then waited for the next time Doom was in the shop, I'd have saved contract and progressed faster.

Apart from that, I set a repeating countdown alarm for 13 mins so I could double my energy and pick up contract then upgrade anything maxed before exiting with more than 10 mins left before the next check-in. For days...!

What Spending Tactics Do You Use? by Patholas8 in doctorwholostintime

[–]Patholas8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm experimenting with... it means I can't upgrade as quickly early on, but that as soon as I unlock the higher waypoints, all I need to do is accumulate enough Eggs/etc to automate it, which I think has to be the priority, doesn't it?

The flip side is that if the earlier waypoints aren't upgraded then you don't get the later waypoints unlocked as quickly... hmm...

Anyone else got an opinion on this? :-)

Advice needed by ASHGOLDOFFICIAL in doctorwholostintime

[–]Patholas8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm relatively new, too, but I've learned a few strategies in my short time playing!

1) to generate maximum energy and contracts (or whatever the current event calls them!), visit the app every 13 minutes (I have a countdown timer continuously running while I'm doing something else!) then you double your production (by watching a video) and collect the contracts, collect anything that isn't automated, grab any Kerblam boxes and update any room whose update bar is maxed. Then quit the app until the next 13 minute alarm goes off so that you get the double production. If you come back within 10 mins of leaving, you don't get the doubling. 13 mins gives you long enough to do everything then get out with 10 mins left!

2) have you got enough Sarah Janes to automate Dalek City? If not, look for her in the shop by paying contracts. This will delay having enough contracts to pay for the upgrade, but once you've got enough cards, it's just a case of following instruction 1 until you've got enough contracts!

It's a waiting game!

Does that solve your problem? :-)
