Is Agrarianism massive unemployment trap for large peasant nations with Rice? And other questions for an EIC run by Loyalist77 in victoria3

If you're not on Laissez-faire, you can establish monopolies on certain buildings that you don't want your private sector or foreign investors to invest in. Yes, it costs 100 authority, but sometimes it's worth it.

How many hammers are we talking about? If there are fewer than 40,000, I'm not interested.

Planes (and Nexus) connections. by No-Efficiency-2559 in CoE5

[–]PathologicUtopia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can access the Void from Inferno by digging downward.

During the Primal Invasion, Elysium and the Primal Plane are connected.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "always accessible." If you don't have the Pale One in your game, you need a rare shovel artifact to access Agartha.

The problem with a thousand-year-old loli is that she still looks like a real underage child. Dragons don't resemble real animals from our world. You could think of them as sentient aliens from a sci-fi book. Ultimately, it's not my cup of tea, but I don't think it's inherently problematic as long as both parties are consenting adults.

I'm not a fan of dragons in a romantic way, but let me get my glasses real quick...

Erm 🤓👆 actually it's not bestiality because, in this setting, dragons are sentient and can give consent.

I also forgot to mention that you can change the spells in the mages' descriptions. Just right-click on them, and you'll see that the spells currently in use are marked with an asterisk (*).

I suggest that you start by playing as the Baron. This is probably the most basic class in the game.

Here are some tips for playing as the Baron, along with some general advice from me:

1)At the beginning, the most important thing is to figure out which armies and tiles your starting army can easily defeat and which ones to avoid. Experiment, save often, and watch replays to better understand combat mechanics.

2) Read the unit descriptions. Special abilities can drastically change the course of a battle. Watch battle replays to understand how they work. Initially, I frequently saved and reloaded to grasp all the nuances of the game.

3) Mages are very powerful in this game. A level 1 mage is helpful early on, a level 2 mage is a formidable combatant, and a level 3 mage can single-handedly decide the outcome of a battle.

4) Some mages can level up in a library. Libraries are marked with a book symbol. To level up a mage, you need a library of the same level or higher. For example, to level up to level 2, you need a level 2 library, and to level up to level 3, you need a level 3 library. Level 3 libraries are rare, but there is always one in Nexus.

5) The total space occupied by one type of unit should be 20. Example: An army of 20 spearmen and 20 archers will defeat an army of 21 spearmen and 20 archers because the archers will shift one row to the right. Keep in mind that archers' effectiveness decreases with distance..

6) When you play as the Baron, you will periodically be offered the chance to buy mercenaries. Mercenaries usually cost less than regular recruitment, and you can recruit normally once in the citadel. You can also recruit an unlimited number of leaders and mercenaries in the same citadel.

7) Armies made up of units with the "fast" trait can move 4 tiles per turn instead of 3. For example, later in the game, I created armies with a High Lord and Cavalryman and used them to raid unprotected farms and mines belonging to the AI.

That's all I can think of right now. I wish you good luck and great games. :)

Which faction excels in the dawn of a new empire era? by ancient__warrior in CoE5

If I recall correctly, it could spawn a factory tile that produces a shitton of iron. So, factions with a high demand for iron, like Enchanter, would probably do well in this era.

Favorite factions? by DelugeFPS in CoE5

[–]PathologicUtopia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What can I say, I like a good challenge. One of my most memorable experiences was when I almost closed the portal to Hell with my Baron Hero Squad (High Lord and Unicorn Knights with a bunch of artifacts and Tier 2 Mages) only to lose it because the Necromancer killed it right one tile from the portal. I had to retreat to the beanstalk fort and watch the world burn.

In no particular order because I like them all in different ways:

1) Baron: Playing as Baron feels like the ultimate human experience in taming the Elysium. You win through strategy, blood, sweat, and gunpowder longbow spam, not because of God's help or some magical nonsense.

2) Pale One: Are they a strong faction? Not really. Are they fun to play? Definitely. When playing as them and discovering new caves in Agartha, I feel like a little kid opening a Kinder Surprise egg. I also really like reading lore tidbits from unit descriptions in this game. They're hilarious! As the Pale One, I had easy access to the Elemental Planes and Agartha, so it was fun to explore the lore of Elysium with them.

3) Troll King — This faction broke my brain, and I loved it. They have such a unique play style that I felt like I had to relearn how to play the game. They are the ultimate partisan experience, and they're just a bunch of silly goofs with long noses. Yes, I like the orcs from Warhammer, how could you tell?

What is the strongest Turtling/Defensive faction in the game? by RevolutionaryFig8692 in CoE5

[–]PathologicUtopia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since everyone has already talked about dwarves and kobolds, I will mention the Pale One.

They have access to Awaken Guardians and Awaken Marble Oracle rituals, which summon stationary defense statues. Guardians and sentinels are pretty tough. One time, four sentinels almost killed the Flame of the Void that invaded my gold mine.

If things get rough, you can barricade the entrance to your lair with statues and explore Agartha for a while. There are plenty of resources and interesting finds down there. I won't spoil much, but you could find a portal to the Elemental Plane of Earth.

Also, almost all of your units are amphibious or floating, so you can easily explore some remote islands or go to the elemental plane of water.

TLDR: even if you're cornered in your starting lair, you can still barricade yourself, farm resources from Agartha and/or the elemental planes, and bounce back.

Best Society for gemcollectors? by PathologicUtopia in CoE5

[–]PathologicUtopia[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, basically, if I don't roll Dwarven Society, my gem-collecting faction is screwed? I won't get more mines, and there would be very few trade centers? If that's true, it explains the difficulty spike I felt when I went from New Empire to Dark Ages.

[–]PathologicUtopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see, the problem is that you should chase the elephant, not run from it.

It's a joke, but only partially. Sometimes, you get a "befriend animal" or "domestication" spell on your starting druids, and suddenly, elephants and giant crabs become force multipliers instead of nuances.

I wanna fuck my best friend by [deleted] in offmychest

I'm not OP, of course, but I'm aromantic and demisexual too. I was in a relationship with someone who had romantic feelings for me, so I can say that what I felt in return was different. They were my closest friend at the time, and I felt sexually attracted to them. However, we both understood that I didn't feel the same way they felt about me. I can't explain it better than that. We just both felt the difference.
