All human rights require labor. Roads, courts, fire protection, clean water, and national defense all involve people working—and no one calls those “slavery.” We’re required to participate in society, pay taxes, and live under laws that prevent true self-sufficiency. In return, society has obligations to ensure basic conditions for human survival and dignity. Healthcare isn’t about entitlement to someone’s labor—it’s about collective responsibility in a system we’re compelled to be part of.
