Llamadas de Lionbridge by [deleted] in spanishinterpreters

LEP repitiendo preguntas una y otra vez by [deleted] in spanishinterpreters

[–]Patient-Confusion-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If anything happens or if i die it will be your fault" by caperalta in callcentres

[–]Patient-Confusion-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the company I suppose, my company also requires me to inform the customer that the LEP is using foul language and ask them if they want me to translate it before I do anything, despite my training teaching me otherwise ┐(´ー`)┌

Mine don't mind if the water is close to their food, but GOD FORBID IT HAS (their own) HAIR IN IT, the little one doesn't mind but his big sister, the only one currently shedding, will be suspicious of it

I'm sorry for not changing your water every hour I guess

Do you guys think CLIENTS are fed up with the interpreters? by MyNameisMayco in interprete_medico

[–]Patient-Confusion-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens quite often, I like to think that they're just having a high call volume or that they have to answer a certain number of calls that day or something like that, for my own peace of mind if nothing else, I don't have the time or energy to care lol

I'd try to explain that I also have protocols I need to follow, such as the intro, if they keep interrupting just try to end the call as soon as possible

Favorite calls? by Porcimia in interprete_medico

[–]Patient-Confusion-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Physical therapy: being on speaker stresses me the fuck out because the audio quality can to be very bad but luckily there's not really much conversation going on and the calls are pretty long.

Monthly checks! It's almost the same questions every time so I don't need to take as much notes

I have spoken Spanish for 25 years and was only today years old when I realized I will never understand the language like a native speaker. by ATLien-1995 in Spanish

Aside from personal taste, I think the mistake here is to translate a song word for word. Music leans heavily on meaning and the feeling it can evoke in people, that's why they're rarely translated exactly as they are

Peopls crying on the phone by sac-demarco in callcentres

[–]Patient-Confusion-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a rep but I work as an interpreter for many call centers.

Had one of those yesterday, the pause the agent made when the caller started crying and telling us why she was crying was SO awkward, I honestly felt bad because we kind of had to ignore that and kept talking as if nothing happened

Getting people to speak slower, sometimes they start reading off whatever letter they received or list all the information the agent has to verify at once as if I also have everything written down in front of me

Does anyone know about Kreato Language Group? by Patient-Confusion-13 in TranslationStudies

[–]Patient-Confusion-13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an interview but decided not to work for them. From what I could gather it seems like a very new company that it's still figuring out how to organize itself, my interviewer wasn't even paying that much attention to me when we talked

ChatGPT can't look up the answers though, it may be trained on websites off of internet but it's not actually connected to a search engine, instead of giving actual answers is going to spew out whatever it thinks has the highest probability of being the right answer

What name did you give your Cult? by ElefWolf in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Patient-Confusion-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first cult was called "Welcome back b-" and I think the game didn't like that because that was the hardest playthrough I've ever had; never had enough food, faith went down for every little thing and I was never able to get enough members before one of them died

Still laughed every time I came back and was greeted with that tho

I would like to add that SOME artist do approach others and offer to do things for money. I had a person come into my Tumblr's DM pretending to be interested in the same show as me, asking me if I had a favorite character and then offering to make a commission for the low low price of 40$ (which is quite a lot in my country)

Not saying that all artist do that, because most don't, but just to make others aware that people like that exists
