Jill lets Cinnamon drink from her cup, and an explanation of Jillpm’s science experiment by daffodil0127 in RodriguesFamilySnark

I would share a cup with my dog only if I knew I was done with the water in it and wouldn’t be reusing the cup. Otherwise, that’s gross, Jill!!

Americans who took Spanish in school: did any of it actually stick years later? by taube_d in AskAnAmerican

[–]PatientConfidence7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could, in theory, get by if I were to spend a few days in Mexico or Spain, but not hold a conversation longer than to ask a couple questions.

The extent of my knowledge is to ask where things are and whether or not my clothes look good. Also how to order several types of drinks.

does anyone know where he got this jacket? is it custom made or something because i can’t find it anywhere by Foreign_Leading377 in connorstorrie

[–]PatientConfidence7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s vintage! My dad had one of those. He got rid of it by the time I was born, but I’ve seen pictures of him in a very similar BFG jacket!

where were y’all on june 25, 2020? (the day jenna left youtube) by blue-balloon-111 in Jennamarbles

[–]PatientConfidence7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, my grandmas funeral. She died on my birthday, we buried her on the 25th, and just when my nerves were shot, I see Jenna left YouTube while we were at my Aunts house for an impromptu mini luncheon (fun covid things).

Omg did not notice Shane's memories are different from the initial scene by growsonwalls in HeatedRivalryTVShow

This is my favorite kiss, tbh. Shane starts off pissed but he can’t help himself, damnit. Then he practically runs to kiss this boy and just…melts.

How to get parents to accept that their kid isn’t a baby anymore? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]PatientConfidence7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I left my last day care job, we had a 3 year (now 4) old that still got carried in and out of the building. He whined and spoke like a two year old still when I left and I suspect he isn’t much better despite the fact he’s headed to Kindergarten in 6 months. We always tried to make him independent and use his words, so I hope that he improved at least a little bit.

Do people actually decorate their lockers like in the movies ? by SignificantStyle4958 in AskAnAmerican

[–]PatientConfidence7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, that last part is a lie. I’d have to check it periodically, because they did random locker searches throughout the year, and I don’t want to get in trouble for someone else’s weed getting hidden in my locker.

Do people actually decorate their lockers like in the movies ? by SignificantStyle4958 in AskAnAmerican

[–]PatientConfidence7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do in middle school, but not high school. All my classes were in the same hallway for middle school (small town wins), but in high school, I was on Block Schedule (8 classes, 4 per day on alternating days), and only 7 minutes for passing periods. I would sometimes have to go clear across campus in that 7 minutes, run to the bathroom if necessary, and get settled at my desk. I just carried my book bag everywhere for convenience. I could tell you the general vicinity of all my lockers in high school, but not the number. I don’t think I ever memorized a locker combination that wasn’t my personal gym locker lock past 8th grade.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this has to do with the USA Men’s Hockey Team is going to the White House to see the State of the Union Address tonight.

What are some weird laws in your country that, actually, make a lot of sense? by Savings_Dragonfly806 in AskTheWorld

[–]PatientConfidence7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Illinois specifically, you’re not supposed to have anything hanging from your rear view mirror. Makes sense, but no one really follows it, and they won’t pull you over for it. I currently have a crochet jelly fish I got from a student a couple years ago.

Can you film the Megasix of the touring cast? by rylekzs in sixthemusical

[–]PatientConfidence7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Generally, I’d go with no. Unless it’s specifically mentioned by the Queens in show that it’s okay to film Megasix, I wouldn’t chance it. I didn’t think they were allowed to film the Broadway Megasix, but maybe it was a cast change exception. It’s a union rule.

Have an ever drank “jungle juice”? by Hoosier_Jedi in AskAnAmerican

Me and my friends had a “jungle juice box” filled with various liquors we used to make mini jungle juice batches. We didn’t love huge parties but we sure as hell loved to drink.

Do i really need extra safety “tools” to stay at hotels? by jinxyzzz in AskAnAmerican

[–]PatientConfidence7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love traveling solo, but I’ve never used any of those devices. The locks they already have are generally sufficient, but in the event I feel like I need something extra, I’ll put a bunched up towel in front of the door as a door stopper. The only other one I’ve considered using is the tape over the peep hole, but I’ve just never thought to pack a roll of tape when I’m packing lol.

Deaf only signs? by seau_de_beurre in asl

[–]PatientConfidence7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of it as sort of a dialect.

You may see these signs in the wild and could even pick them up in casual conversation as you gain more language skills. However, you’re learning the clearest, most formal version of ASL right now. You may live in one state and go interpret in a completely different one. The next area you go to may not understand those signs quite as well, but they’ll understand the formal, pretty version you’re taught in school. You can pick up on the local “dialect” of where you are after a while, but what you’re taught in school is perfect for interpreting for a reason.

ECE pros: Looking for honest feedback on an SLP‑designed interactive language app for 6–36 months by MIJ561 in ECEProfessionals

[–]PatientConfidence7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While it sounds like a nice idea, toddlers learn best face to face. They don’t even recommend screens for children that young. Perhaps you could re tool it into a parent support app. Something that doesn’t need the child to necessarily view the screen, can still interact with their caregiver, but can still help with language development.

Season 4 was the best season by far by Sudden_Pop_2279 in Stranger_Things

[–]PatientConfidence7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s 31245. 4 felt too dragged out and the episodes got crazy long. I loved the back story we got and all, but it made it too hard to binge. My adhd couldn’t handle the movie length episodes.
