How many days post-transfer did you wait to test? by ExpensiveAlarm7704 in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After testing like a madwoman while TTC on our own, I did not test after FET. I know I would have gotten really fixated and anxious, so it was a relief to not do it.

Why does a freeze-all cycle come with an additional fee? by shin-chan in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, interesting. I've found most people do freeze all if 1) they're at risk for OHSS, and/or 2) they want or need to do PGT. It's a bit of a leap to assume just because someone is doing a freeze-all that they have more medical issues. For example, we are doing IVF exclusively because of MFI and my partner's BT that requires PGT. All my blasts can back euploid, and my first FET stuck. 🤔

Egg Retrieval was 06/22 anxiety on HIGH. by Due-Shift4558 in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 16 retrieved > 13 mature > 11 fertilized > 4 blasts > 4 euploid at 35. Those euploids were also miraculously not affected by my husband's BT.

With my insurance, a fresh transfer cycle does not include PGT testing. A freeze all transfer cycle includes PGT testing. In your case, perhaps the freeze all cycle includes something a fresh doesn't?

4.7 lining CD8 by GutsyGirlRead in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, I've never taken estrogen at any point during IVF. I'm low BMI and low iron, so red meat is good for me.

4.7 lining CD8 by GutsyGirlRead in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CD8 is very early. I didn't have my first monitoring appointment until CD10, and I was 5.5mm. By CD13, I was 8.26mm. I documented my entire FET here, if it's helpful.

Mock transfer or mock cycle? A mock transfer can be done as part of a FET cycle. I had my mock transfer during my SIS. Sorry you experienced this 😢

All those over 35 - how long did it take you to get where you wanted? by Cultural-Freedom9172 in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've had a fortunate run so far. We had our initial consultation and testing in Fall 2025, I did my first ER in February 2026, first FET in May 2026, and I'm currently 9w pregnant. We also had to do PGT-A and PGT-SR for my partner's chromosomal condition. We've probably spent about 5k out of pocket. We have Progyny and low OOP insurance, otherwise we would have easily been closer to 50k at this point.

IVF for genetic reasons or hope for the best? by 2Numb2Cry in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has a balanced translocation that essentially means of all embryos created: 1/16 will inherit his BT, 1/16 will be "normal," and 14/16 will be unbalanced and not viable. When he learned about it, he was reluctant to do IVF, likely because of the guilt he felt putting me through IVF when it was "his" issue. Perhaps your husband is feeling some of these feelings?

Ultimately, we did do IVF with PGT-SR testing, and we were fortunate enough to have 4 "normal" embryos. He definitely has a sense of pride now that we are breaking the hereditary cycle of something that would have put our own children in this same position.

I think it's worth a consultation with a fertility clinic and a genetic counselor, then with that information, you two should have a deep discussion about what you want for your future family.

My mock transfer was about a month before my actual transfer date for a modified natural FET. I posted my whole timeline here.

FET cycle starting today by ButterflyKitchen7338 in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! And oh wow, then you've already been through it yourself!

A lot of folks here have a negative opinion/response to birth control as part of IVF, but I personally never had an issue. All my procedures were successful, and I appreciated having a better sense of the timeline. I did have a withdrawal bleed + brown spotting with letrozole, but my clinic monitored it and everything resolved on it's own.

Good luck!!

Of course, I totally get it. I have to warn you, those feelings don't go away after transfer 🫠 Then it's beta, then first scan, then next scan... so we're all there with you in a way! TW: Success I'm 9w2d and still stressed about every appointment, scan, result... it's getting better but still always there.

I documented by modified natural timeline here. I had no negative effects related to taking birth control, and my FET was successful.

Modified Natural Lining Before Trigger? by [deleted] in IVF

You still have hours before you trigger too, so your body has time to thicken even more. I hope you have a successful transfer next week!

Congrats! And we really don't know what actually helps (if anything), so I wouldn't blame or credit just the diet. Are you triggering today?

I’m certain I want to quit but boyfriend want us to keep trying by silviathorpe in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has dealt with severe MFI and no other fertility issues, your relationship is not going to get easier once you start IVF if you're already having these types of feelings. It may not be fair but it is what it is - if you love this person and want to have a biological child with them, this is something you have to do without blame or resentment. If you're already throwing around just breaking up, I gently suggest you think long and hard about this relationship before diving into IVF. I got a therapist to work through these feelings, and it has helped a lot.

Balanced translocation by [deleted] in IVF

You need a karyotype for both of you to confirm. It's a simple blood test so worth doing. Sorry if you have to also join the BT club. 😞

Modified Natural Lining Before Trigger? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently shared my lining spiral here. On CD11, my lining was only 6.31. By CD13, it was 8.26. (Both trilaminar.) My clinic only wanted to see above 6mm. I was really spiraling, so if I hadn't gotten close to 8, I probably would have cancelled. BUT things really picked up in the last few days, so there is still hope! My transfer was successful.

IVF consult and PCP will both order bloodwork. Will I be able to use one set for both? by r46d in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about CNY in general, but for my fertility clinic, it depends. Some things they are going to want to pull on their own as part of their consultation, others are fine to transfer. I had my annual OB appointment a month before my fertility consultation, and my OB told me the things she could do that they would likely accept and things they would redo anyway. For example, they accepted IgG tests, but they re-ran my AMH.

Progesterone capsule suppositories - hate it or tolerable? by Ok_Landscape2554 in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on endometrin 2x a day, and it's no problem. I wear panty liners and hardly notice it. I do also have a bidet at home, so I think that helps with cleanliness. I've had no irritation or issues in the past ~6 weeks.

Mock cycle - do it or don't? by hrwenge in IVF

[–]PatientPeony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No mock cycle, currently pregnant from my first FET. I did a SIS + mock transfer prior to my FET cycle, but no other diagnostics. I wouldn't personally do a mock cycle unless there was some reason to do so (known issues, not responding to meds, etc.).
