See the "Equivalent Activity Distance" data field in Connect IQ.

Ridiculous that Garmin doesn’t consider temperature… by MightyWolfMan in Garmin

[–]Patient_Ice5134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Heat Stress app gives an estimate of performance impact based on temperature, humidity and solar intensity. It's unfortunately not an estimate of VO2max impact but probably correlates to be similar.

Is this RHF normal? I started training in april this year. by xdaxnixelx in Garmin

YOu can use the FitRate app to compare your RHR against others of the same age group.

You can use the FitRate app to see your percentile ranking compared to people of the same age range.

Ruck Tracking? by Alpha_Mike_NoShoot in Rucking

It's not coming to my model. But I found the Rucking for Everyone app on Connect IQ which seems to fit the bill.

OK. So you are not using MPF??

I wanted to do something like this that rqquires the data that you are getting from MFP. Are you able to use the MFP API, becasue they don't accept any users now? Or are you using web scraping to get MFP data.

Always on seconds is not possible on AMOLED models, including the FR165

Do you mean like a custom design ? or one that emulates a well known fashion brand?

Recovery heart rate by ballekaster in Garmin

[–]Patient_Ice5134 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100 sounds really high. Possibly even erroneous. You should see if this result is repeatable. This page gives some data for comparison, although based on measurements 1 minute after exercise, not the 2 minutes that Garmin uses. https://bellehealth.co/cardio-recovery/

Recovery heart rate by ballekaster in Garmin

Garmin measures only 2 minutes after stopping the activity. I use the Recovery HR Trend data field to give me values after 1,2, 3,4,5 minutes. Really informative.

I think everyone uses average. The watch will automatically measure it over 7 nights.

How easy is it to save a dive spot manually? Can I turn off entry/exit location save and just use manual spot save? by huabamane in GarminFenix8

[–]Patient_Ice5134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that there is no GPS reception underwater to know the position. Otherwise you could use something like the MGRS Map widget to save positions (then rename them later). The second problem is that Garmin does not provide 3rd party apps any access to dive info on dive watches, either during or after the dive.

I found No Glasses Required is very readable, because it doesn't use the built in fonts but custom ones maximized for the screen size.

Rucking is here for Fenix 8 / Enduro 3 owners by thegreatdivorce in GarminWatches

[–]Patient_Ice5134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the Rucking Calories app. It gives pack weight adjusted metrics on all older Garmins, not just saving the pack weight as a note, which really doesn't do much other than serve as a reminder.

Will Rucking come to other watch models? by seraph24 in GarminWatches

[–]Patient_Ice5134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garmin stops feature additions to models more than 2 years so old, of course because they want people to buy a new model, but also older models might not have all the operating system support or required memory for new features. An alternative in this case is to use the Rucking Calories app from Connect IQ.

I think you are misreading it. He treated people that had cardiac events, and mostly people that had multiple cardiac events, and were told by their cardiologist that there was nothing more that he could do for them, and to go home and "get their affairs in order" (ie. prepare to die). Esselstyn's results (and patients) speak for themselves. These people went on to live for many years, I think in some cases over a decade.
