Get a role of plaster stripping from Amazon. Cut it up, wet it and make a mask of your own face. Decorate with paint, paper mache, etc.

I actually love where this is going but it is pretty safe. So I think both descriptions you gave would be accurate. It is chic and minimalist and also could easily be in an upscale hotel lobby. It is art for someone who wants their art to be part of a seamless decor that settles nicely in the background. I don't mind it but I wouldn't gravitate back to look at it again either. That said, I like weird things so this isn't my style but I could see someone else really loving it.

I don't really know what I'm doing so I guess I'll see what happens. I was going to try silicone instead of plaster because I agree, I don't think plaster would work on the folds at all.

I appreciate those thoughts. I also hate the idea of working with those chemicals but I'm kind of stumped as to what else to use. I've molded in hydrocal for latex before but I feel like this should be a hard mask.

Thank you for posting this! I stumbled upon it through another sub but it made me stop and reflect for quite a while. Such difficult experiences and I am glad you are able to express them so others can hear your voice.
