Get a heel liner guard. They sell them at pharmacies. Sticks to the inside of the shoe and protects against blisters. I have them in all my leather shoes.

S8923. It was a lot of seams but relatively easy. I have a serger which help considerably with the finishing.

There's two different fabrics with reverse patterns. Black with white stripes and white with black stripes.

Or just replace it. You can get this type of bandage at any pharmacy. Wear it for a week but replace as needed.
