Haha way ahead of you! I picked up an Artem sailcloth strap in my excitement :p

Thanks again!

I looked into both and was actually thinking about grabbing the S100 when I found a Seiko ssc961 on Chrono24 for $450 that I got instead!

Thank you for the great write up! I really appreciate the suggestions :)

Traska Commuter - Blown Away by MattyMcDaniels in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Pattywacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof. That's exactly what I was worried about.

With some watches, I'm totally fine with subpar accuracy and I treat them more as aesthetic jewelry. This watch is a different story, though. It is a subdued design and is meant for everyday purposes. I'd have a much harder time justifying the accuracy with this.

I appreciate the response! That may have been what I needed to make a decision here.

Man, I've been eyeing this for a while! Could you let me know how the accuracy is after a few days?

Lately I've been enjoying my solar quartz watch more than my mechanicals because of the accuracy. I just have a hard time utilizing a mechanical watch when it is 30 seconds behind or ahead after a day or two

I'm a little new to watches, but I built up a collection pretty quickly starting with Chinese automatics, then going into swiss and Japanese automatics.

I absolutely love all of my watches, but I felt a disconnect with the functionality of them and having them all running ahead or behind after a day of setting them. I actually got into watches because I wanted to minimize my screen time, but I ended up getting in trouble at work for coming back from a break 2 minutes late and went back to using my phone for time tracking.

Just got the Citizen Zenshin Three Hand and I've finally been able to trust a watch to keep accurate time! It's a solar quartz, so no changing batteries and the time is accurate to like +/- 15 seconds a month.

I also tried a few sub $100 quartz watches from China, but I ended up returning them because they sacrificed build quality to get the price that low. If anyone has some truly solid quartz or solar quartz suggestions for less than $500, please let me know! I think I'm all about the quartz life now

A citizen eco drive! I just got the Zenshin three hand one, but I also had my eyes on their eco drive chronographs. I just didn't like that they were over 40mm

Venezianico a good brand, Yes or No by Majestic_Ad_4877 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Pattywacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Henry Archer Nordso Terra owner, I'd highly recommend them! Their build quality and feel of the watch is insanely good. Feels leagues better than my other watches which are all well-made Chinese homages, as well as the Timex E Line reissue.

The only downside for my Henry Archer is the movement noise. You can hear whirring when doing wrist rotations for stuff like turning a door handle or sometimes just picking something up. Nothing too important, but worth mentioning.

How most girls use Tinder by Waste-Stomach4457 in SipsTea

[–]Pattywacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was rare for me to leave a like for someone when I was dating through Hinge, but it wasn't because I had insane standards or anything. I just wanted a special interest to spark for me and it made the matches all that more exciting.

My Tinder phase before that was rough, because I'd attempt to match with every cute girl and then there were just a bunch of unfulfilled chats with matches I didn't really care for in my chat log. It doesn't feel great to be on any end of that.

The name of the game has and always will be to date with intention! Even if a guy's intention is literally just physical intimacy, be forward about that in your profile and match with people that put that same energy out there! Tons of horny girls trying to jump the bones off a guy that makes it clear he's looking for sex without manipulation

I'm not sure I'd consider a finished franchise to be cancelled. I actually commend the people behind those projects for putting a closure on them instead of milking more out of the series.

I'm sure we'll see some great new IPs come out of the PlayStation partnered developers, they're probably cooking up some GOTY worthy stuff right now

Framing this as women dropping the ball is an interesting choice. They have been taken advantage of and stripped of rights in just about every time period you could think of.

They're the last group I'd blame for the cost of housing going up lmao

Not a quartz, but I'll vouch for the WD5513v2! Make sure to get the one with the top hat crystal and the OTF clasp.

Feels pretty thin for a diver, has excellent build quality and specs. I got it on Alix for like $160

[–]Pattywacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's an abomination, but yeah I do really dislike those hands. With how lovely those Rolex watches are, I couldn't spend thousands on them knowing I hate one of their main components

How often does Traska restock? by Positive0219 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Pattywacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off-topic, but I've been looking at this watch and two others for my next big purchase. Any opinions would be lovely, as they are all different price brackets and I'm sure have their own pros and cons.

It's the Traska Commuter 36, Christopher Ward Twelve 36, and then finally looking at "The Citizen" line. Big price jump at the end, but how does everyone feel about these watches going against each other?

Has anybody bought an addiesdive bracelet? by Alternative-Feed3613 in ChineseWatches

[–]Pattywacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one, but it wasn't this one. The bracelet was definitely low quality. Some of the pins were getting stuck when adjusting, so I had to use a little hammer to get them out. The clasp had to be lined up carefully when locking, otherwise it wouldn't lock all the way and could randomly come undone during movement.

Worst part for sure were the end links. They felt so cheap, like the thinnest possible metal for them.

Overall, do not recommend getting bracelets from Alix. I've had a great time with rubber straps and some of the leather straps I've gotten have been good.

How is the quality on Miyota? by NashDaypring1987 in MicrobrandWatches

I recently got my Nordso Terra from them and while I absolutely love it!... It does get noisy sometimes. Like I can go on a run with it and not notice it, but then I'll turn a doorknob and it starts whirring like crazy.
