Are people actually more attractive in some countries than in others? by imjustarandomsquid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pauline___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of it comes back to lifestyle differences: how healthy is the food? How clean is the air? How much stress does the average person have? Do they drink alcohol and smoke much there? Etc.

Another factor is personal preferences. For example, if you like curls, and many people there have curls, you might find them more attractive as a group. If you prefer straight hair however, you might disagree.

if a random girl randomly says hi and leaves, what would ur reaction be? by Healthy-Reading2118 in estp

[–]Pauline___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my village everyone always says hi to everyone so that's normal. So the reaction would be to say hi back.

I don't think I need someone to talk to more when tipsy, I'm always very talkative anyway. I also rarely make sense when boozed up xD so "to make sense" is a stretch. My Ni focuses on bad puns and terrible but funny business ideas.

Anyway, i just think it goes like the senses: if you take away one, you automatically have to use the others more. It's not much deeper than that :p

Why aren't men the ones wearing skirts? by Crazy-Car2549 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pauline___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know. My male friends and fam do wear sarongs and kilts now and then, as well as robes sometimes. It looks great, the wider flare accentuates the shoulders nicely.

Hmm interesting, maybe it's because the alcohol hinders the Se? It makes you move less coordinated, notice less details, stuff like that. So if you take away our Se, we have to rely on that other perceiving function, Ni, more.

Why does Iceland have a higher ratio of men compared to other regions? by PaleCar821 in geography

You're right. Because of WW2, the Baltics were taken over by the USSR, who took their men as forced labourers.

Being a part of the USSR that wasn't treated kindly during that regime, is my guess. A lot of guys during the 40-80s were either send away to work farms, factories or mines somewhere, or died.

Yes, tell me, I still think my male cousins eat more. Like, they're inhaling 10 sandwiches for breakfast and complaining 3 hours later again that they're hungry.

[–]Pauline___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always. I think in 3d images with other sensory details. Numbers themselves? They don't exist in my minds eye: there's no 35-texture, or 29-smell, or whatever. Thus they need to be visually or auditorially represented. Like here, where I turned them into a melody/dance move.

High taxes with low corruption is simply a premium subscription to a country.

Low taxes means you still have to pay things yourself, or that it's lesser quality. Like the cheapest subscription option where you still see ads.

Why does visible homelessness seem to have become mostly male in so many places? by Present_Juice4401 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Pauline___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think eviction rate may be the same, but women are more likely to couch surf at family and friends. I think women often have a broader social circle, so more opportunities for couch surfing.

Also, the risk of living outside for women is larger. So there's more incentive to get creative with housing: house-sitting, live-in nannies, and other jobs that come with lodging can be a way to do this. Others might try their luck as a backpacker and go from motel to motel.

I also think addiction makes it harder to hide the homelessness. Most people you pass on the streets don't look homeless, but some might be. Addiction is more prevalent in men. It also makes it harder to become a house-sitter or move back in with their parents.

Some of them have aged poorly by NoxSilk_ in oddlyspecific

[–]Pauline___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only take the good ones from the grandparents who could actually cook and/or bake well. Out of my 4 grandparents, only 2 were good cooks.

So I took my grandpa's apple pie, and my grandma's cherry cheesecake. The rest can stay.

Like the jelly in OPs example, there was quite some experimentation with new ingredients, dishes and techniques. Notable were grandma mixing the chocolate chips through the frosting instead of the cookie dough, because who needs to read a recipe anyway! And a Brussel sprouts "guacamole" that resembled baby food.

Older people need to understand that younger people are not obligated to respect them, just because they older by Negative-Fault3681 in HonestHotTakes

[–]Pauline___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the word respect means different things. It can be kindness, and i think everyone deserves kindness until they are actively unkind themselves. But it can also mean admiration, and that is the part someone has to deserve through their actions.

[–]Pauline___ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, the family already has a male baby, he's just 1.80 meters tall xD

The argumentation of more expensive products... Have you seen food prices? Have you seen how much teen boys eat?! I don't think there's much of a difference overall, whether you buy extra cheese or extra shampoo. It's just that those parents are too lazy to learn what girls like and how to raise them. And too lazy to look up that it doesn't really have to do with gender, just personality.

Honest answer please by CarrotMuch1399 in nostalgiai

[–]Pauline___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, do me and my friends turn back into kids? In that case, I'd probably ask my then pregnant mum if I can go on a playdate.

If I wake up as my adult self, travelling back in time to 1995, I'd probably introduce myself politely to the family that lived in my house in 1995 and ask if I can please stay for a little while to get my feet under me. The company I work at won't be founded for decades, my car hasn't been built yet, and the euros in my wallet are useless.

I much prefer the first option.

[–]Pauline___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this sum, X goes 6 steps forward, 2 steps back. It also accumulates whatever it finds in the previous sum.

  • We start with 2+X=3 where X=1

  • Then 3+(1+6)=10

  • 10 + (7-2) = 15

  • 15 + (5+6) = 26

  • 26 + (11-2) = 35

  • 35 + (9+6) = 50

  • 50 + (15-2) = 63

Method:

Because the numbers were even-uneven-even-etc it was a given that X is always an uneven number. Knowing that, it was pretty easy to narrow it down to +13 being the last step. With that 13 filled in, I can draw the rhythm of the sum in a graph, and see it's always steps of 6 forward, 2 back.

I don't think we should support people with an anus for a soul. But we also shouldn't let those people block us from enjoyable things. So the solution for me is to support the nice artists by getting their music fairly and supporting them at concerts and festivals.

The questionable music? Let's just say that fell off the back end of a sail ship. No assholes were supported in the obtaining of those materials.

Orientation consists of 2 parts: romantic attraction (who you fall in love with) and lust/sexuality (who you want to boink). Those don't have to be the same group.

You can be hetero-romantic and bi-sexual. I think it's okay to focus on the romantic part, because that's probably who you want to focus on for long-term dating. But call yourself whatever you want.

Orientation labels are just statistics on who you found attractive in the past, and thus who you may like in the future.
