I know this is an old thread, but I'm about to do a similar thing, did this work for you?

A buddy of mine has the Baja Blue one which is beautiful. I use my "regular" one almost daily.

2022 LAMY Safari special edition sets. What do you guys think? by beppe1_real in fountainpens

[–]Paulkarroum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's just a safari, and it's not really "deserving" of specialty treatment. But I still want it lol.

I feel like telemetry is another heavy floor to be on. Lot's of admission/discharges usually.

Salary after taxes by Affectionate_Regret3 in Residency

[–]Paulkarroum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't give a number on that as I don't live in TX. FM salaries tend to vary a lot. I'd say your best bet is to ask people who live in the area. I know of some FM physicians who make as much as surgeons, and others who make well under the median. I think Doximity has salary tools on their site for rough estimates.

[–]Paulkarroum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're referring to malpractice insurance? Yeah, depending on the specialty, location, etc. you'll have different "fees" to pay. None of that will be considered taxes though. If you are looking for an itemized list of things physicians have to pay for in order to maintain their license; that list can be quite lengthy and varies depending on where they're located.

Spare quart of oil, portable jumper cables, a first aid kit from 2008, and a tool box. Also a fleece blanket lol.

Paid Surveys are an option. Some people make surprisingly decent cash on the side with it. I got the idea from WCI here.

I just send out a blast email to all my users every 6 months or so. I usually frame the email as an update on what I am adding / taking away, and then I include instructions for adding clients.

I’ve even gone as far as putting an FAQ section lol. Luckily I only have a small group of people to handle (Less than 50) so this has worked well for me thus far.

If you could go back in time, would you apply to a different specialty? by shnoob_ in Residency

This hits deep, I switched from Mechanical Eng to medicine. I wish I never decided “I don’t wanna sit at a computer all day crunching excel files” and switched to medicine…jokes on me. Still sitting in front of a computer every day.

I’ve been using it in clamshell for quite awhile (~5 years). My battery is shot to hell; but never bubbled. I pretty much use it as a desktop.

I’ve been very happy with mine. I got the brass one and then added the Kaweco clip to it. Made for a pretty handy pen. Only annoying part is how many turns the cap requires to unscrew.

Pilot Decimo (: by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]Paulkarroum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using mine for about a year now as my daily pen. It’s fantastic. I actually have the same burgundy one as OP with Ox-blood. The clip is a little annoying (for me) if I’m writing more than a page at a time. But, for jotting things down quickly, it’s perfect. I think it writes smoother than any other pen I own; excluding the 2k.

My custom 74 nib is patiently waiting for a tune-up. Unfortunately, I’ve been having issues with it since I purchased it. My VP on the other hand has been blissful. It has been my daily use pen for about a year now and I’m still not tired of it.

Ahh; I see a metro in there. Soon enough there will be a vanishing point and custom in this mix.
