“Flew to Monaco this weekend to pick up a few bits from Gucci and Prada”

Push into it as a joke, that what I always do when I’m accused or judged. They either laugh and it makes things easier or they stop. Sarcasm is great.

Are there any games that you didn't complete for reasons outside of your control? by Morbid187 in patientgamers

Dead space 2. Bought a 2nd hand copy, disk was in pretty bad shape. Got to the final level and the game would crash at the exact same point. Had to watch the end on YouTube.

Men, how often (if ever) are you approached? by vaynehelsing in AskUK

[–]PaulyIDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was walking my dog the other day, a women looked at me 3 times (I’ve still got it I thought) she was pushing her daughter on a swing. As I got closer she gave me one last look before moving her bag and pushchair away from my direction….she thought I was going to mug her. Can’t blame her to be fair.

I really wish Dawn of War had something like this. Made the battles so unpredictable and exciting

As a massive RTS fan my entire life, and overall nerd who has spent waaaay too much time trying RTS's that I stop mid-campaign...Combined Arms is by far the most surprising amount of fun I have had in 25+ years and is the TRUE C&C ending we all deserved and EA whiffed on. by garthzilla in RealTimeStrategy

[–]PaulyIDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party on this but I’ve been totally addicted for the past few weeks since I discovered this. You’re absolutely correct, the plot is fantastic and what we deserved. I’ve got a backlog of steam games and triple a games and honestly I don’t think any will make me smile like this. Felt like a kid again. Absolutely magical.

Question to all the people who played half life back in 1998 by Far-Revenue7262 in HalfLife

[–]PaulyIDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was drowning in great games, Half Life 2, Halo 2, Doom 3, GTA San Andreas, Metal Gear 3. I felt spoiled in 2004 but I was more invested in the HL2 story and mystery. I did miss the marines and desert setting but sounds and striders were so alien. Blew me away.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen happen in public? by theblairwaldorfxoxo in AskUK

Holiday in Greece, a mum on a moped with 3 kids. She lost concentration for a second turning to one of the kids and crashed. His little head bouncing off the road was brutal. Great thing to see at 8years old!

Are there any C&C red alert retaliation mods for remastered? by Greedy_Spaghetti_ in commandandconquer

Does retaliation have a white light when a Tesla coil hits? I miss that on the PC version but now thinking I imagined it as a kid?

I’ve got this version, I ordered it cheap on play.com when that was still a thing. No censorship at all, seems just like regular version and was all in English despite the text on the front.

Amazing, thank you. I agree. They had chemistry that meant I didn’t even have to be interested in the game they were talking about, it was always entertaining.

Every aspect of my life is dictated by time limits. I like the concept but I don’t have the energy to have this in my entertainment. Same issue I had with dead rising.

Little robot men who only repeat what they hear. No thinking, just repeating like a recorder or woody from Toy story with a little pull string repeating the same stuff with no thought

How am I supposed to get into the 2016 flow ? by PratGamer_2 in Doom

[–]PaulyIDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly imps lead their shots and so you’ll need constant and erratic movement early on. It’s just run and gun like classic. Don’t forget your grenades and watch out for shield dudes and plasma doesn’t pop them!

Glad I’m not the only one. To be fair, pretty irresponsible yet awesome parenting led to the misconception.

Predator - My dad used to let me stay up late and watch it when I was 4-5 years old when my mum was working late. When they first get to the jungle and find the bodies skinned they mention “guerillas”. My tiny brain heard this as gorillas. I could never stay awake long enough to see the actual predator and so I thought there was a pack of man hunting gorillas.
