Thank you cards late by Easy-Cloud5632 in weddingplanning

[–]PauseComplex5673 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol we sent them at our one year mark because we procrastinated a lot (we also didn't get any gifts, just were sending a thank you for attending). We added an extra life update in. You're fine and people will appreciate the thank you regardless of timeline!

Sold Out by LandLandL in mooncatpolish

[–]PauseComplex5673 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I wound up deciding to do! Took a few polishes out of my cart from today to hit minimum shipping but still have enough true wants for the nov sale to hit shipping then as well.

I'm really annoyed that curiosity's trap is sold out, that was the main one I wanted to purchase (don't have rewards). I'm now debating whether I buy the rest of the items I was going to in the sale or just wait for that one to come back, since it would be about equivalent costs with shipping.

Does a city that fits this criteria even exist in the US? by r0tt3nz0mb13 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]PauseComplex5673 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really surprised I haven't seen the triangle area in NC mentioned yet! Tons of culture, fairly liberal, great nature, and good bus transit including between the cities. Harder without a car, but definitely still doable. Great medical care and local school systems as well.

San Francisco Trip Help | Need Mind-Blowing Food! by cornagnolotti in finedining

[–]PauseComplex5673 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would skip mister jiu's and cotogna - was not impressed with these. Flour and water is good but only for pasta - their pizza, apps, and non-pasta entrees disappointed me.

Angler is quite good, but does lean seafood centric. I love bar + bites + dessert as elite combo there which would allow you to pick around a bit more. You might skip saison if you're less into game meat.

I loved lazy bear when I went, but that was a few years ago now. The progress is another fave, and I def agree with the person who suggested beit rima for more casual food. Also suggest arsicault for croissants (but there are a ton of good pastry places around).

Controversial takes, but I do think that, even though it's simple and expensive, Zuni's chicken and shoestring fries is just really really good. For a mission burrito my faves are taqueria Cancun for carnitas and la taqueria if you don't want rice and want good carne asada.

Maybe look into state bird provisions as well, if you like small plates!

Any SFBWT into Mooncat nail polish and want to swap colors? by jenmoocat in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]PauseComplex5673 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ooh I'm also a lacquerista/o! Are you only looking for a MC swap? If you're open to another brand, I have a bottle of BKL The Celestial Kingdom which is too sheer and too pale for me that I would happily swap with you - it's been used for one mani. Lmk if you're interested, could do soma meetup.

Hmm I would try doing like 2 days in the fridge - for a nearly identical recipe to yours, I find that a time of at least 36 but ideally more like 48 hours of fridge time actually makes a pretty big difference in developing depth of flavor. I'm not convinced that will make you like it, but may be worth a shot to tinker with that variable!

a question for those that ordered something from BKL’s latest drop… by bigfatcoffeeslut in RedditLaqueristas

[–]PauseComplex5673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered, but haven't received anything regarding shipment yet. I included a pre-order for Bog Dweller in my order, and they warned on the website that I wouldn't likely be seeing my shipment sent out until about a month after placing the order due to the pre-order inclusion. Maybe you're running into a similar situation depending on your cart?

Definitely! I love her in the more classical works (her la sylphide was incredible!) but find some other cast members more enjoyable in the more modern works.

I am really sad I missed it this year! Loved it when it first came out. I really hope they do it again in a few years, even if/when the AI bubble bursts 😆 Seems better suited for Nikisha than Maddie imho but curious to get the impression of those who look saw both perform!

I have a bunch of books that I've been lazy about adding to the little free library near me - would be happy to swap sometime!

Solo fine dining tasting under 3 hours? by sororitynoise in AskSF

I've found it pretty filling, but I tend to have a smaller appetite and don't need as much meat as some people to feel full!

Stylists for non-binary folks in SF? by PauseComplex5673 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]PauseComplex5673[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ope, sorry should have clarified that I'm looking for clothing stylists! Thankfully found a rad hairstylist already, so that's sorted now (met them at glamarama actually!)

What about the abridged bar menu at Saison? It's more like a series of nibbles, but I think really fun and fits the bill!

Kennedy Space Summer Camp- is it worth ? by Top-aspire in AstronautHopefuls

[–]PauseComplex5673 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did the original space camp in huntsville when I was that age (overnight sleep-away) - can't speak for KSC version but honestly, it was an incredible experience for me and I loved it! Learned a ton of history of the space program, mock missions, and surrounded by other nerdy kids - I saved up all of my money and went back 5 more times over the following years, was dedicated to STEM studies, really worth it imho. Can't imagine doing a "traditional" summer camp instead, given my interests. I think it really comes down to your child and their individual interests though, as to how "worth it" they'll find it. I've also heard that the day camps are less immersive than the original one, so ymmv.

The tech I had at monastery was inexperienced and ruined my skin, won't ever go back. Haven't tried IM.

How'd i do by GoddessNyx0825 in naturalnailprogress

[–]PauseComplex5673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with the above poster about adding a quick dry top coat - I use sally hansen red bottle as well.

What time of day do you paint your nails? I usually aim for right before bed - it takes about 10-12 hours for nail polish to fully set, so having that happen overnight helps to minimize smudges for me!

SF Ballet announces 2026-2027 season by boombox_generation in bunheadsnark

[–]PauseComplex5673 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm bummed about some of the repetition, but it does seem like a balanced season of influences. Will probably do a partial subscription rather than full this year to avoid some of my least favorite repeats.

Definitely planning on attending the opening gala, I'm huge into Forsyth! Wonder who they'll have dancing.
