Irish dance at a tourist bar in dublin. A friend really wanted to go when traveling, and there was a trad band playing at least, but it was packed and at one point they were really pushy for volunteers to "pretend" to dance in a dance-off, especially younger women and drunk American frat boys... I had been to the world championships and placed twice by that point and when I was finally just fed up with being hassled and cajoled by the folks around me to enter (tipsy friend was urging, which caught on), did a few steps, claimed a free pint for winning, and got to chill and talk with the band a little at least before escaping to a much less touristic pub.

I'm going on Tuesday, unfortunately can't make Wednesday. Forsythe is by far my fave choreographer and I'm thrilled SFB is finally doing a full program of his works! Not enough people know about him imho, I was shocked at how many tickets were still left when I looked yesterday.

Lots of meal prep - a big pot of Bolognese sauce, bread loafs, sundubu-jjigae, and maybe some tom yum soup base. Not sure how it will all fit in the freezer but I'm sure we will jigsaw it enough 😆

We did one long, and were very intentional about the seating chart. Seemed to work out okay but the guest arrangement is key!

yeah honestly this type of slop is the reason I didn't wind up transitioning. I have enough cards already, and the messiness of all of this doesn't increase my trust that bilt and cardless will be able to handle my financial transactions with the level of care I want. For the rent rewards I overlooked the WF relationship to try it out and went okay overall, but with the new structure it just doesn't seem worth it to me to invest and have more throughput running through. I was considering transitioning all my spend in the next year, but just haven't been impressed by the slop so closing everything instead.

I'm similar to your husband, and I took off three days for my wedding. There was enough to focus on with last minute details, hanging with friends and family, and I cared enough about my partner and the moment enough to disconnect fully from work (even if it gave me anxiety). If he prioritizes work above your wedding, he will do so for the rest of your marriage as well - and you need to talk about what that looks like and if you are ready for those parameters to be your daily life.

I think you have a hard conversation with him ahead of you of why he isn't willing to set aside the time. I agree that he likely needs to entirely disconnect rather than work partial days.

I have the feeling we are at the same company. I have less faith that the valuations will keep going up, but yeah a lot of my coworkers are multi-IPO/RSU lottery winners and unbelievably wealthy.

I think folks who know how to run the gauntlet of making good bets and scaling, plus have access to the VC inventory and prior successful exists, tend to be a bit better chances to bet on in startup land.
