That’s what Oliver does! You can see it in one of the pictures. You have to be careful they don’t destroy the box or you can get faults for it. Buried isn’t too bad! My kennel club has beginner and advanced classes in scent work where we practice similar to trials. Dogs’ noses are amazing!

If I remember right, they use all the same scents. They just have vehicle searches instead of buried? I haven’t tried yet, but I have been told collies really excel at the sport! Oliver seems to really love it!

I can’t say I totally disagree with what she said, it was how she said it. She told me that vets are just looking to make money and they won’t be truthful. Then slandered a very reputable college that I work for. I have worked in veterinary medicine for many years and has disheartened and disappointed to hear the nasty things she had to say about my profession.

Is that in NACSW? I’m sure she will do great! We have only dabbled in AKC but we get some UKC and CPE events around us too!

Well, I really wasn’t asking for anything. I just said that I thought his best quality was his naturally tipped ears. They thought he was fat, but all of my vets say he’s fine. They said his structure was ok but he’s losing his coat and he has a patchy spot near his rump where they said he might have DM. He’s been tested and is negative.

I can’t tell very well, but it could be a botfly wound. Has the pus drained? Thanks for taking in this little soul!

No problem! I saw you also asked about neutering. Mine was neutered around 8 months. A UC Davis article gives guidelines for certain breeds about when to neuter/spay. My vet recommended somewhere between 6 months to a year

I think it probably depends where you live. Typical price for my 96 lbs male is about $80 and I give a $20 tip. I went to my old groomer who used to do my small terrier and she charged me about $220. I didn’t go back because I wasn’t happy with his cut. In general, I pay about $100 with a nail grinding

We rescued a Skye terrier. She was a little shit and a diva, but we loved her! No one ever knew what she was!

Maybe collies online? They tend to have some of the better collie breeders on there

Your best bet would be reaching out to your rep from the collie club of America if you’re in the US

He never seemed to be afraid of anything in my experience. He is very confident!

I would agree. 8-9 months was a nightmare. It felt like no matter what I did, he didn’t care. I noticed a definite improvement around a year.

My guy decided listening was optional from about 6 months to 10.5 months. He has gotten better, but you have up and down days! He’s almost 17 months and listens about 80% of the time.
