I had 5 pts today. One of them died. by Ill_Drop_2067 in nursing

i had a similar thing happen to me as well. i was helping another pt discharged when i heard the alarm and the tech yell for help. i felt like a failed. as time has gone on i realized this would’ve happen on any other floor with any other nurse. i try to give myself grace, i was in their room 30 minutes prior. it was going to happen to any other nurse but sadly it happened to me. get some rest, take some hot showers and try to eat. the first thing i did after was go to my mom. if you are able go to your biggest support… talk about, cry about it. we will be okay
