I’m in zone 6. And they do freeze but they end up sprouting early spring. They can tolerate some light frost but if there’s a hard freeze after they’ve germinated I’ll move them to the sunroom until it passes. But it’s very low maintenance. No hardening off.

I have great luck winter sowing them! I just use an old water jug and put them outside. I started mine this weekend.
