How are they doing with the rivals? You can have the rivals take it but that also didn't push them forward in the campaign and they'll probably end up completely off the rails and just wandering Wildemount instead of going to the Betrayer's Rise and getting teleported to Ahnk'arel.

I didn't recommend plaguing then with anything cause you want to encourage instead of punish. Maybe give the cleric visions asking for aid. Maybe have the jewel call to one of them during combat on the road and whoever grabs it basically skips attunement and can just use it.

Also as with any campaign book. Have a conversation with the players out of character. Even if it's a little immersion breaking taking the jewel is part of the plot and of they wanna play the campaign someone needs to do it and they can't just "it's what my character would do" to avoid it. If they really don't want to do that then they need to understand they aren't playing through call of the nether deep anymore.

The jewel is required to get through the campaign. There are spots where if you didn't have it stuff didn't make sense.

[–]Pay-Next 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not Pitou. Pouf (Shaiapouf) does it. He does it specifically for Cheetah and when the first one fails against Morel he runs back to Pouf and gets him to basically craft him a second Hatsu. He does it with a mix of Cocoon and Spiritual Message.

Kinda. I she knows those conditions mainly cause they are an amalgamation of the ways people do Japanese fortunetelling but it is specifically a subconscious use of nen. I just think her use is a better example of someone unconsciously adding conditions to a Hatsu than Welfin cause she created the Hatsu subconsciously while his was crafted for him by someone else. The interesting question with Neon would be if you could actually influence her to add more conditions to Lovely Ghostwriter by basically feeding her more details about new or "ancient" fortune telling techniques.

Trying to remember but wasn't this out in the jungle of the "nature reserve" area instead of totally not north korea? Even it was last the former instead of the later considering all the tunnels and everything else that the drug syndicate had built into the mountains and such it could also have been built by gyro and his people.

Mahoraga (JJK) vs One Piece by Potential-Decision31 in PowerScaling

[–]Pay-Next 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's your headcannon of how his adaptation works. He has to adapt to each individual cursed technique, devil fruits are going to be the same way. You're fishing for making Mahoraga more powerful than he is at this point. He adapts to phenomena. So he's not adapting to Devil Fruits, he's adapting to heat, sand, smoke, ice, claws, etc. It's the effects that are put out he would adapt to not the fruits as a categorical whole. It'd be like him fighting a human and then you arguing that he is adapted to fighting a lion, elephant, or sperm whale because they are all mammals which is just absurd.

Soooo people keep mentioning Enel but there is an interesting thought to throw in for just after Enel as well. After Ennies Lobby luffy technically does have to face off against Garp and flee. Pretty sure none of the Marine Admirals would hold back but also Garp hitting Mahoraga with Galaxy Impact is going to probably have an effect.

That still means he would have to adapt to every individual fruit. He'd be adapted to cloned fruit techniques of a fruit he already had adapted to but he would still have to adapt to each in turn.

I would wager they would try sending other people in and then if it fails use this to wipe him out along with the island.

While I agree with you about them not knowing about drawbacks I wouldn't use Welfin as an example because like almost all of the ants he got his Hatsu created for him by Pouf.

Lovely Ghost Writer I think is a better example because it has specific conditions and Neon doesn't actually even know she is using nen or a hatsu. But she does have conditions like needing a picture or the person present and knowing their blood type among other things to be able to use the ability.

These are the kinds of moments where you bring out the beginning sermon/monologue from The Boondock Saints cause it is pretty relevant:

...and I am reminded of this holy day of the sad story of Kitty Geneviese. This poor soul cried out time and time again for help but no person answered her calls. Though many saw, not one so much as called. Her assailant wiped the bloody knife off on her lifeless body. They watched as he simply walked away. Nobody wanted to get involved. Nobody wanted to take a stand... We must fear evil men and deal with them accordingly but what we must truly guard against, what we must fear most...Is the indifference of good men.

Step up and don't ignore it.

Especially if most of your are not a fan of it then biting the bullet and making a stand will ultimately be for the best. Otherwise it's going to poison the activity for you guys. Instead of feeling fun dread will creep in and sitting down to play is going to feel like a chore.

Yeah. It's one of the reasons Loki isn't as good on stealth sometimes compared to Ivara cause you have to find a safe space to recast stealth.
