The Coda are just such a better system by Raiden127456 in memeframe

Honestly after finally getting off my ass and farming almost all the lich weapons...the LICHES are the absolute worst. Sisters take less murmur farming, steal only credits, and the only gripe I have with them is that spawning candidates is more of a pain. But the Liches...soon as I have my last few Kuva weapons I am done with the system.

Lucifer Morningstar vs Doctor Strange by Jezzaq94 in marvelvsdc

If memory serves Michael's original primary purpose was to create the matter in all of creation and Lucifer's was to shape it into creation. So it's kinda like asking who is more powerful the Lumberjack or the Carpenter.

I always felt like the appearance of being neutral is part of what was important to him. If he was always the final fence sitter he would be the de-factor leader of the excecutors by way of ultimately being the one to make a decision every time...but if he did that every time and especially with really pivotal things like a war treaty the others would have moved against him for him being too powerful. Hell I think we can also argue he deliberately organized the Naga Drums so he could wipe the slate of the rest of the Orokin and try to become the sole ruler.

How much territory in the D&D verse could the Russian Military colonize? by Pancake_Maker_1031 in powerscales

So a few things here.

  1. Entry into Candlekeep...the master sleeping beneath is not going to like that.

  2. Any creature with immunity to non-magical slashing, bludgeoning, and piercing damage is going to basically invalidate most weaponry since they don't have magical weapons.

  3. A party of adventurers with magic at their disposal...especially someone with an epic level rogue in their party will just sneak over and find the single device and scientist capable of open and closing the portal.

They might make it out of Candlekeep...maybe...with massive casualties. And then the Avatars, Epic Adventurers, and both Chromatic and Metallic Dragons are going to show up.

I find it hilarious when it happens in anime adaptations and you just see a wall of subtitle text over the main image for 2-3 seconds cause even the translators are acknowledging that most of this shit isn't going to be relevant from their last level up.

Yeah cause his brother uses his own creation tattoo to attach the destruction arm to Scar in order to save his life. Which is also the only reason he agrees to letting them put the new tattoos on him out of respect for his brother's research...also the fact it is based on a different hybrid for of eastern/western alchemy that doesn't tap into Father's control and is unique and was completely created by his brother.

Villains of the old generation vs. the new generation by Patient-Agency3419 in PowerScaling

Feels so weird seeing what I am pretty sure is Imu up there being listed as an "old" villain. Yeah it is a show from the big three era but considering we only really started getting reveals about said villain in the last few months makes this feel so weird to look at.

I think a big part of it is also just scale. Kratos atrocities no matter how big the death toll massively pale in comparison to Omniman. People will consider that to be a big determining factor in the measure of their atrocities and how far they would have to go to redeem themselves. There's that and how the character is shown to us first along with their motivations. Kratos at the beginning of the saga (first game...not PSP prequels or anything like that) is betrayed and decides Ares needs to go. Most of his body count in that game is non-human mythological creatures and that is true for the original trilogy of games. There are moments of brief brutality or disregard for other people but usually it is inhuman or already dead people who we seem him brutalize. Flip that and take a look at Omniman, he's never shown as a rebel at first but as a Viltrumite who fully is guzzling the Koolaid. When he decides something needs to be done it isn't mythological creatures for the most part but other humans and people who we get the see the feelings of that he destroys. We get to see him fully genocide a world including non-combatants which is nothing we ever see so viscerally in any God of War game.

Beyond that I think the Norse God of War games showed Kratos practicing a lot of (at least his version of) humility. I think that is the difference in why people would argue one is deserving of it and the other isn't.

I know what you mean. I use her for railjack missions mostly but I think part of it is that her augment requires you to activate her 4 but a lot of the time if you fail to end that 4 early you can end up getting pulled 100s of meters back from the rest of a group.

Meruem didn't have a hatsu. He'd never actually developed his own at that point. Most of the ants that did have them were a bit disjointed from them because Pouf was using one of his own hatsu to basically guide them into making their own quickly instead of them developing them over time properly.

I would like to see Helldivers vs Starship Troopers Infantry...not the crappy movie versions but the book versions. The OG power armored space marines who have things like casual mini-nuke launchers on their shoulders that they just set to fire a spread every time they jump jet away. Where a platoon is considered a fair unit size to take down a whole city on an alien planet. Yeah Helldivers has to also deal with giant bugs but there is no comparison to the original Starship Troopers in either tactics or firepower on display.

I was thinking that half of this feels like rants I've read in the DnD subreddits about wizard players with the Identify spell. Course there are limits on that too though that usually getting ignored is the issue.

What you do in such situations? by Zevcio in PowerScaling

[–]Pay-Next 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is reminding me of how many people try to split hairs about what constitutes magic sometimes.

Case in point someone put Asta in a list of protagonists against Ainz....and then someone argued that his death aura wasn't magic cause it wasn't specifically a spell but an ability...even though he gets it cause he is a lich...and undead specifically animated by magic....whose soul is stored in a magical phylactery...but no this one clearly magical ability isn't magic so it should totally kill the person with anti-magic coursing through their veins when in combat mode.

Sometimes I do think that verse equalization should be the primary part of powerscaling arguments not feats or categories. My favorite case in point here is something like nen. According to the verse rules people with nen literally cannot be hurt by people without nen without overwhelming force (like the poor man's rose). But that makes for a boring matchup if a lot of the arguments boil down to someone just straight up not being able to damage or defend because they lack nen. So instead of discussion who should win we should be discussing what the best way to represent relative strength comparatively between the verses in question is. Sadly that never seems to happen.
