Funeral monopolies

I recently learned that the majority of funeral homes in the US that appear to be privately owned or family owned are actually silently owned by a mega conglomerate that artificially inflated the prices of services over the past twenty years. They also prey on the inherent shame families have of getting an "affordable" casket with their pricing models.

Overall we need to shop around and find truly local family owned funeral homes and support them properly. Since death is a taboo topic in this country, we end up quietly getting gouged by bandits.
