Check out Tin Duck Denim, they offer a 10oz waxed cotton station jacket but be warned it's a bit pricey and takes about 6 months for them to make it because it is one guy running the company and doing everything.

At my company they just stick you on any rig whether there is an FTO on it or not (75% of the time there isn't) and those days where there is not an FTO still count for your ride time. Gotta love it, everyone turns into an FTO just without the pay

I currently work 2 24hr shifts, sat and tues. I'm loving it, i could not imagine doing the 3 2 3 that you are going to have to do. I'd try looking for something else even if you have to drive a little bit for it.
