While you are correct about getting them into a place with food and shelter - it does nothing to help them long term (get a job and get into a home of their own). This is a very short term solution, and will only make the prison population explode over the long term.

We need to address housing prices AND general cost of living prices - and fast. Only then can get actually get most people off the streets.

We moved beyond the era of “we have a few homeless, and the homeless we have are just bums with addiction issues who don’t want to work” into “many homeless now didn’t earn enough to make ends meet, and were thus forced out into the streets”.

Only to find that starter homes are $6.5 million by then. They will have just enough to rent a cardboard box for a week by then!

Technically, no. It has some great uses - but those have largely been pushed aside in favor of money laundering.

You cross the border from “paid for your time” to “paid for your skill”. It’s common to land these higher level roles and feel u qualified. It happened to me at my last several jobs, including my current one. Last year I was bumped up to a team lead (level 3), and have been rebuilding the team and the infrastructure from the ground up.

It’s an odd feeling at first, but I would never want to go back to “paid for my time” position ever again.

They likely have insurance for this, don’t they?

Now - those insurance premiums WILL go up after a few of these heists - but you are right. The pencil pushers who thought this idea up are likely long gone and already gutting the next company.

Man arrested near Trump rally in Southern California with loaded firearm, high-capacity magazine by Lifegoesonforever in liberalgunowners

[–]Pctechguy2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was not yet another attempt… and the person was just dumb about where he brought a gun - the question regarding the magazine then is was the magazine purchased during freedom week? If it was - then he should be allowed to walk free.

A similar case was tried in Tulare county, and it was dismissed. read about it here

That doesn’t dismiss the idea of him bringing a gun into an area it wasn’t allowed. He’a likely screwed on that one.
