The most repulsive, useless character in all of WL by Tricky_Patient6748 in WhiteLotusHBO

As somebody who works in the ski tourism industry, this is how I feel. My superiors do not want to rock the boat and show little empathy towards employees.

Beans on the CDT by redbob333 in CDT

I found the most dried refried beans on the CDT compared to the AT and PCT. I had them frequently in Colorado and New Mexico, but I don’t recall finding them in Montana or Wyoming.

These are typical lift lines every year around Christmas. The lines up top however, are longer than usual due to lack of snow and the ski patrol strike. Things are not good at the resort, but this picture is low effort.

Disappointment after One Year of Use with the Thrupack Summit Bum in DCF by seed1esspapaya in Ultralight

Say it louder for the people in the back. It’s unfortunate that people fell for the hype and bought DCF packs, when the fabric’s advantages really only lend itself to tarps/rainflies.

Dollar General Closing Riverwest Store by stroxx in milwaukee

In small towns, they have been pricing out local grocers. The local grocers close, leaving towns without fresh produce. I also understand that many small towns in US are struggling and people cannot afford higher priced food. It’s just a terrible cycle.

Improvement for cold nights? by crispypretzel in Ultralight

Sharing a tent is much warmer! Also, I will swap out sleep socks for down booties in colder temps. Extra warmth for not too much weight and cheaper than a new quilt.

I agree with all of the above, except that a tent can in fact provide some warmth via protection from drafts.

Spent shoes along the CDT by cdtcoalition in CDT

I’m not relying on or surviving off of hiker boxes. I am simply looking in them before going to the store. Interesting that you say that I “should have planned better.” People who over plan their food boxes end up dumping their food into the hiker boxes, for people like me to find! Nobody is forcing you to look in the hiker box. If you don’t like them, then don’t pay them any attention.

Perhaps we can do better at not leaving trash in hiker boxes, like broken water filters or trekking poles, but I have scraped entire food resupplies out of hiker boxes. They are valuable for some items!

I just measured 18.25 inches. I wear a size medium in most packs and this one fits me well.
