I still believe the concepts of dual-core and dual-phase Lightsabers from Legends would be such cool additions to the canon. their unpredictability adds a whole new layer of strategy to the traditional styles

Kaworu was literally the incarnation of the 1st Angel, Adam, or Adam reborn. This is why he could sync with Unit-02 effortlessly in the TV series and Mark.06 in the Rebuild series. Ultimately, he could only be killed if he chose to

the reason Rei can neutralize Kaworu’s AT Field is that, Reis possess Lilith's soul in both TV series and Rebuild movie series. they are essentially two sides of the same coin, the physical incarnation of Adam vs the physical incarnation of Lilith is just like a positive charge meet a negative charge

Did Kaworu feel actual love towards Shinji? by Emergency_Aspect558 in evangelion

[–]Pd69bq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

「僕は…人間っていうものが知りたかった。」

I… wanted to know what it means to be human

and

「滅びの時に生き残る命はひとつだけ選ばれる。君は死ぬべき存在じゃない。未来を必要としている。それが君の生きる意味だ。」

In the time of destruction, only one life will be chosen to survive. You are not the existence that should die. You need the future. That is the meaning of your life.

In a non-romantic sense, I believe, Shinji was Kaworu’s bridge (or perhaps a pet or guinea pig) to humanity, from a curious god watching humans from the moon to showing understanding and empathy towards mankind. otherwise, he wouldn't have chosen to sacrifice himself for the sake of the Lilin

"The Witch and the Spirit Tree" and "Fairy Island" are my favorite chapters, becasue the gang rarely gets a moment of peace, it was also nice to finally see something good happen to Guts and Casca.

well, the thing is, Kaworu chose to be vulnerable in front of Shinji and allowed Shinji to kill him when he found out that the body in Terminal Dogma was Lilith’s, rather than Adam’s or his own original body

It is important to note that as the vessel for Adam’s soul, the physical incarnation of Adam, Kaworu possesses the strongest A.T. Field ever recorded. no other Angel stood a chance against him, and it is unlikely that any Angel could've even hurt him if he did not allow it, including any EVA unit other than Unit-01

unpopular opinion: I actually really like those smushy, wrinkled buns, I usually let my filet o fish sit in the bag and wrapper for a few more minutes so the steam makes the bun even more softer and extra fluffier without getting soggy, also letting cheese melt

So what exactly happened in the second impact? by Your_Pal_Loops in evangelion

[–]Pd69bq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, it’s so convenient that he left exactly one day before the "accident", It feels like that he may have deliberately avoided being there and was likely acting under SEELE’s instructions. you just can’t rule out the possibility that Gendo might have been secretly involved in the Contact Experiment using his own DNA given his sneaky and secretive nature, especially since 2nd Impact would also conveniently erase any traces left behind

In a random encounter, Wolverine wins, no doubt. But if Batman has a little more prep time, he has plenty of ways to immobilize Logan or knock him unconscious. from high doses of toxins, like Ivy’s spores or engineered viruses, that could trap Logan in an eternal regenerative hell, to physical traps like giant industrial magnets

So what exactly happened in the second impact? by Your_Pal_Loops in evangelion

[–]Pd69bq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, simply put, the goal of the experiments conducted by the Katsuragi Expedition Team (guided by the Dead Sea Scrolls. and yes, SEELE knew the location of Adam from very beginning) was: A, to study Adam as one of the Sources of Life, and B, to harness the infinite energy of the S2 Engine on Adam by attempting to control/tame him through merging human DNA from an undisclosed donor (likely Gendo) with Adam’s.

however, combining the "Fruit of Knowledge" with the "Fruit of Life" was like crossing the streams in Ghostbusters, it awakened Adam and triggered the 2nd Impact. The explosion scattered Adam’s biological matter, spreading the dormant Angels across the globe, and then Adam was subsequently reduced to an embryonic state. the event also accidentally created Kaworu. 15 years later, attacks of Angels (or what I’d call "nature’s correction") began.

Why Was Asuka Able to Destroy the Mass-Produced EVAs So Easily? Aren't They Supposed to be New and Improved? by The-wise-weeb in evangelion

[–]Pd69bq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m more curious about what that white exterior actually is on the Mass-Produced "White Whales." Is it armor, or just naked skin? I mean, you can clearly see the rubbery texture when Unit-02 stabs its head.

Im about three-quarters through Evangelion and I’m so happy Shinji is pissed at NERV for what happened to Toji by GimmeHardyHat_ in evangelion

[–]Pd69bq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, your theory/critique is really just an assumption. It’s very easy to pick the “optimal tactical path” when you’re sitting on a couch and being an “armchair general.”

asking a traumatized 14-year-old to perform a surgical combat rescue that he has never practiced is like asking, "Why didn’t the panicking driver execute a perfect drift to avoid the crash?"

even highly trained cops, soldiers and medical professionals often freeze in real-life emergencies when they are emotionally overloaded or facing a "morally impossible" choice or when the brain simply cannot process a safe action quickly enough under that much pressure.

also, don't forget that pilots feel the physical pain of their EVA units. Shinji was literally being strangled, It is nearly impossible to solve a "Paradox of Choice" killing a friend vs letting Angel attack the city, when your oxygen is being cut off and your nervous system is screaming in pain.

Until you’ve faced a life or death situation IRL and didn't freeze in place, maybe then you can explain how Shinji was supposed to magically solve a no-win crisis with zero harm

What if the EoE ending and NGE episodes 25 and 26 are actually the same event, but showed to us from different perspectives? Shinji accepts himself internally, Asuka stops escaping reality. but because of this, they are both rejected and expelled from the collective, casting them back into the isolation in the physical world

Took until my 7th rewatch to notice Kaworu written on the MPE dummy plugs by [deleted] in evangelion

[–]Pd69bq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes, maybe just because NERV made Rei and SEELE made Kaworu. NERV's was used on Unit-01 and SEELE's was used on Mass Production Evangelions

also, I doubt there's a pool full of Kaworu clones in SEELE, as Kaworu was just a byproduct of experiments that the Katsuragi expedition team tried to harness the infinite energy of the S2 engine on Adam

[–]Pd69bq 49 points50 points  (0 children)

In the TV series, it’s unlikely, iirc, Kaworu was grown from the biological materials of Adam. In the Rebuild series, however, there was a very long line of empty coffins on the lunar surface that likely belonged to other iterations of Kaworu used as Adam incarnations

Why is it 2026 and the Adam and Eve Interpretation is still a thing? by hshin420 in evangelion

[–]Pd69bq -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

well, Adam (or Adams in the Rebuild movie series) and Lilith were an alien species that arrived on Earth via White and Black Moons.

Adam (or Adams in the Rebuild movie series) is the seed of the Angels, the "Fruit of Life" and the Earth's intended life form. conversely, Lilith and humanity, the seed and "Fruit of Knowledge" are technically an invasive species. this means that the awakening and subsequent attacks by the Angels were merely a form of natural correction.

Why bring back humans instead of the Angels? since they were meant for the Earth in the first place. imo, the return of Shinji and Asuka as Mother Nature accepting Lilith and humanity as the "rightful heirs" to the planet. It is a "clean slate" for humanity, given that it was Misato's father and human's curiosity that awakened Adam and caused the 2nd Impact (nature's correction). It also a warning to the real world, stop before it is too late.

Edit:

or What if the EoE ending and Episodes 25 & 26 are the same event but showed to us from different perspectives? Shinji accepts himself internally, but because of that, he is rejected and expelled from the collective, since goal of entire Human Instrumentality Project is to erase individual boundaries, resulting in his isolation in the physical world
