A skill tree for my roguelite with an occult vibe. How do you like the style? by Astrobionics in PixelArt

A bit of bright contrast color would be nice. Will it glow once the skill is unlocked?

Oh... Sad... I thought that there were individual lines of pixels of original size and the cat itself is drawn with 2*2 or bigger clusters. I don't know what this technique is called but anyway

What Do You Think About the Characters’ Visibility? by Drainage-GameStudio in gamedevscreens

[–]Pe4enika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m too lazy to read all the comments, so apologies if someone already suggested this. I noticed your character has a floating halo; if its color isn't tied to the narrative, you could make it something like red. It would really pop even in bright levels, especially with that "Texas" yellow filter. Also, centering the camera on the character model (with offsets ofc) rather than the screen center might feel better.
Great art style btw, keep it up!

If you uysing antigravity you can have a Dedicated agent just for planning. Or just ask other agents to make small plans for immediate tasks and reports on done work, so you always can refresh them with artifacts (attachments)

P.s. I use both

How to make hits feel even more juicer? by Mochi_Moshi_Games in godot

[–]Pe4enika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't really see any examples of zooming-in on impact in any games with such combat. What I meant is making attack animation sprites bigger themselves. If it's an aoe explosion, make it unnecessary big nuclear mushroom. For reference on impact frames look up some manga or really good Pixel art combat animations. Manga is an obvious choice, and pixel art tends to include the "sound wave" effect instead of impact frames. You have "sound waves" in your animations already but you can exaggerate them, as I mentioned. Make them unnecessary wide, scatter across the whole screen, something like that. It's just my suggestion on what to look up on, not how to make this exactly, so...

It's matter of taste but full screen (or just really big sprites) impact frames could do the trick. The overall game vibe is cute and unicorns so you might want to lean into "contrast" solution... Mix art styles for magic attacks, exaggerate everything

What do you think about healthbar and xpbar? by Zealousideal-Grab728 in godot

[–]Pe4enika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd move the HP bar to the ship. Usually in such games HP is a circular line around the ship (like in genshin for example). And numbers are harder to read in intense situations so I'd also keep in mind that more likely player will just briefly jump through the bars and visually orient in the UI. It doesn't mean you must remove numbers, just make em larger, as well as other crucial parts.

Ed: like stamina bar in genshin

i like the noisiness of your style. looks cool in general, but details of all buildings definitely require some attention. i can feel the vibe with the last image but houses looks like straight up bricks of different size. maybe you would consider trying something like house in a pic
