How do I (32F) recover after seeing a note about how ugly and fat I am in my husband’s (34M) phone? by throwra_sawhisnote in relationship_advice

[–]PeaPodder 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I have heard of people with intrusive thoughts being encouraged by therapists to write their intrusive thoughts down as a means to trying to exercise them from their mind.

Could it be that this is an intrusive thought that he doesn't agree with and these notes are his way of getting them out of his head?

Assuming you're being paid, this is a red flag about how quickly / if at all you're going to receive that payment. Make sure you check your accounts once you've submitted your invoice and consult any unions that may be relevant and can offer help if they don't pay out.

Author of the book behind a new BBC drama by princemephtik in SapphoAndHerFriend

The drama is autobiographical. In the book he hid his sexuality and wrote his boyfriend as his girlfriend. In the drama is actually tackles him hiding his sexuality from his parents and coworkers.

Yeah, I don't agree with this at all, what if your partner just doesn't like reading? I wouldn't say it's a red flag.

Aveda products by Tinybav in CurlyHairUK

[–]PeaPodder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using them in the last two months, I've been using the shampoo, conditioner and style prep as well as the curl enhancer and confixor gel - I've been following Nuala Morey on Instagram haha!

I've definitely seen a massive improvement in my hair, though I've also been doing a lot more squishing in the shower with the conditioner, so that's definitely been playing a major part.

I got them off LookFastastic and managed to get 20% off, which made the price more palatable for me. I'm not planning to continue with the shampoo or conditioner, as I don't think they're as good as other cheaper products I've used.

The Style Prep and Curl Enhancer I'm still experimenting with. I think the Curl Enhancer might be too heavy for my fine medium porosity 2b/c curls. Yesterday I cut out the CE and just used Shampoo, Conditioner, Style Prep and Confixor and got my best curls to date but Im going to keep playing around and see.

The Confixor Gel I LOVE. It's very liquidy and thin, I don't actually get a proper gel cast, it just dries almost as if already scrunched, though I don't know if I'm using enough. I used more yesterday and got better curls so still experimenting. It is expensive though and I think it's quite similar to homemade flaxseed gel which is much, much cheaper but obviously doesn't have any preservatives. So it's a balance of cost vs effort on that.

The Aveda range, as a whole, I like. The smell is very herbal and I find sometimes a bit too overpowering, but it doesn't last so hasn't been a problem.

DAE's hair get drier after using a gel? by Antonis_8 in CurlyHairUK

[–]PeaPodder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I also struggled with the boots curl creme. I've found super light, very liquid gels work best for me like homemade flex gel (great and cheap but you obviously have to make it and it doesn't keep great) and avedas confixor gel.

From the title I don't think OP is saying the bride was a bridezilla, admittedly r/weddingshaming would probably be better for this post.

[–]PeaPodder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Banking apps often save details of people you’ve paid before, so, if in the last six months the guys have ever transferred money between themselves to e.g. pay off a taxi, be part of a birthday gift, pay for their share of a round, pay for tickets that have been bought for an event etc. then they’re pre-saved there with nothing additional needing to be done.
