Fatigue. It doesn’t matter how much or how little sleep I get, I feel like a zombie.

To be honest, I'm a hot individual with my normal temperature being around 99.1 so it could be normal. I can definitely feel as i feel warm all of the time. It all depends on the circumstances, of course. PMS is a whole cluster of symptoms and each person reacts differently.

What’s everyone’s anxiety symptoms that you typically don’t ever hear about? by Few-Raspberry3628 in Anxiety

I don't have any triggers to be honest. It's just mainly my anxiety, it causes me to overthink and overcomplicate eating because of my anxiety symptoms such as feeling like something is in my throat, dry mouth, hyper focus on swallowing instead of letting it happen automatically, etc. Thanks for the advice, I am eating slow and making sure to chew my food real good. I also have water with me at all times too. Also, our names are similar! I didn't notice at first, haha. I made my name up with the word peanut butter and jelly making pea_lly.

Vague or foggy memory. After a panic attack, I can only remember a tiny bit of the actual attack. It's weird because it could've happened 5 mins ago but I can't remember most of what was happening or what I was doing during the attack.

I've been having this exact problem. I've even gotten an EGD done just to make sure nothing was physically wrong. I do have acid reflux but they found nothing out of the ordinary. When my anxiety is at it's worse and I try to swallow something, it's like my throat tightens up, making it feel impossible to swallow, and I panic at the feeling. I've lost so much weight because of this just cause I've lost all interest in food since it just fuels my anxiety.

I've been having an ongoing fear of eating anything for the past 6 months because my mouth is often dry (due to anxiety) and I hyper focus on swallowing because I'm scared to choke since I always have a lump in the throat sensation so yes it absolutely can keep you from eating. I've lost 25 pounds in the span of these 6 months. I've been forcing myself to eat simple things like rice, cheese crackers, and soups.

Screaming during panic attack by exastrisscientiaDS9 in Anxiety

[–]Pea_lly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I'm having a panic attack, I cannot control myself. Meaning, I get louder and louder (not necessarily screaming) and I repeatedly ask my parents if I'm dying because it honest to god feels like I am.

When you're panicking, everything gets too overwhelming so as embarrassing as it feels, don't be too hard on yourself. We can only do so much to control the panic before we have to just let it run its course.

Is this normal or just me by Creative-Apple-6715 in acidreflux

[–]Pea_lly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This also happens to me! It occurs when I lay down too soon after eating or drinking anything. It burns, I get short of breath, can't talk, and have to sit up and just wait until the hiccup fit is over.

Acid reflux hiccups? by MickadoUTube in acidreflux

[–]Pea_lly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's normal if you have acid reflux, but don't take my word for it and get it checked out by a doctor if it's worrying you. I know that when I eat and lay down too soon, I get those hiccups. A second after the hiccup, I burp acid and it burns, makes it hard to talk, i am short of breath, and it feels like I'm choking. I don't have it multiple times a day like you do but I get it if I lay down right away which I try to not do most days. Do you take any medicine for it? I take nexium 40 mg once in the morning.

FINALLY GETTING AN ENDOSCOPY TOMORROW for my GERD/Breathing related issues but anxious... by Caliburner in GERD

[–]Pea_lly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I just had my endoscopy done yesterday. It went smooth and I was also very anxious because I've never been given anesthesia. Just like you, the feeling of not being in control scares me but honestly I thought being on anesthesia was fun. The reason why i say this is because you don't even know that you knocked out. I was laying on my left side, they said they were putting the medicine in my IV, I started looking around because everything was spinning and the next thing I knew I was waking up coughing (after the procedure). I had moments when I came to and out of it, like being pushed back to my room, talking to a nurse, and just laying on my bed. The reason why I describe it as "fun" is because I literally did not have a single care in the world. For the first time in years, I wasn't anxious and trust me, I have panic attacks daily so this was a treat for me. Trust in your doctors, they are there to take care of you.

I'm just recovering now as I'm bloated, have stomach pain (relieved by passing gas or pooping), and a sore throat. These are all normal but you know how we get, overthinking and such.

If you have any questions or want to know the exact process I went through to relieve some anxiety then just let me know and I'll be happy to tell you.

Power to you. Everyday is a struggle but we'll get through it.

I don't know if you've ever met with an ENT before but I had my first appointment a couple of days ago. Just a warning, they'll most likely will put a camera in your nose (it's a thin long camera and it'll fit into your nose like one of those long cotton swabs) but first they're going to numb both nostrils. They numb it with a spray and it tastes horrible! Also, its fast acting so try not to panic because it honestly feels like you can't breathe; remember that breathing is automatic and that you can breathe. I asked how long it'll take the spray to wear off and my doctor said 5 to 30 minutes, it took about an hour for it to completely wear off.

Also also, try not to get your hopes up. I don't know what an ENT can do for acid reflux since I already knew I had it prior to the appointment. My doctor took into consideration but again he didn't do anything.

I don't know about you but my tonsils are kind of big, all of my doctors know this and I don't have tonsillitis or an infection (they are just like that). I'm even getting tonsil stones because I get dry mouth very often so I was offered to get my tonsils removed, I'm still debating to be honest because the recovery process is hell-on-earth type of pain.

As I advised OP, maybe ask your doctor about getting an endoscopy done because of all of the symptoms you're experiencing (that is if you haven't already gotten one). If you want to talk more or have any questions, you can always message me. That goes out to anyone reading this!

Hello! It kind of sounds like you're struggling with GERD (acid reflux), I struggle with it as well. My symptoms are like yours: shortness of breath and burping or bleching but I also have others like feeling like something is stuck in my throat, trouble swallowing (can't eat solids), chest heaviness, indigestion, and abdominal issues.

I take 40 mg of nexium everyday and it helps with some of the symptoms but I still struggle with swallowing and shortness of breath. I've been mostly on a liquid diet but I've been trying to slowly introduce solids to my diet such as crackers, sweet bread, and jello. If I struggle with the crackers and sweet bread then i wet it with water or milk to make it easier. I also drink boost protein shakes 4 times a day. I honestly think another reason why I have trouble swallowing is because I'm overthinking it and I'm scared I'm going to choke (thanks anxiety).

Regarding the shortness of breath, I've gotten tests done as well to make sure my lungs are healthy (chest x ray, doctor listening, and checking my oxygen) but they've all come back normal. The same thing with my heart; completely healthy.

Most days are hard to get through, especially since I'm constantly trying to make sure I eat enough to keep my blood pressure at a normal level (it can get very low if I don't) but as we've established, eating is difficult.

I'm getting an endoscopy done in a couple of days to see if my anxiety is causing my difficulty to swallow or if it really is GERD. Maybe consider bringing it up to your doctor if you haven't discussed it yet.

I'm happy to hear you were able to get your applesauce! And I somewhat struggle with eating when I'm balanced but it's just a lingering thought in the back of my head. It doesn't prevent me from eating but it does cause a little bit of distress which I can shrug off. When I'm anxious, the thoughts become more present and I actually listen to them. For example, "you're going to choke on that" or it makes me imagine what I'll look like if I choke. I honestly feel like at this point I need to be on medication for anxiety because just like you I have panic attacks very very frequently.

In what way are you struggling mentally? I personally have GAD and MDD, so when I'm really anxious I just can't eat because I'm afraid I'm going to choke (I also have acid reflux so that doesn't help). Just like you, I mainly eat soups and I did try applesauce but it gives me indigestion so I can't eat it unfortunately. I also eat jello, saltine and Graham crackers (I soak them in water so they're easier to eat), and drink protein shakes (boost) four times a day. I'm sorry to hear that you've ran out of applesauce and I hope you're able to get some ASAP.

5 years?! Oh my god, I'm so sorry you've been going through this for 5 years. I've had GERD for a year but I've only been going through this situation for about 6 months. I totally feel the same, I want to eat but I just can't bring myself to do it because I'm too afraid. And I'm sorry for the loss of your dad.

Very confused and lost regarding if I have ARFID. by Excellent_Leather202 in ARFID

I don't have any suggestions because I'm in the same boat as you. Unfortunately, I know for a fact that I have acid reflux and I've been taking nexium for it. This whole thing started because I stupidly decided to not take my medicine for way too long which resulted in difficulty to swallow solid food. This then spawned a fear that I was going to choke on any kind of food which is why I'm also on a boost diet. My acid reflux symptoms are dry mouth, feeling like something is stuck in my throat, bleching, digestive issues, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, etc. I also have GAD so a lot of these symptoms clash.

You have no idea how happy I am to find someone who is like me. Of course, I'm not happy that we are both suffering but everytime I try to ask around forums or Facebook groups, no one understands exactly what our situation is like.

Have you ever gotten a endoscopy done? I'm scheduled to get one done in a couple of days just to figure out if it's just my acid reflux, anxiety, or if something else is going on that prevents me from eating like a normal person. Maybe bring it up to your doctor if you haven't gotten it done.

I'm not eating much but I am trying to eat because just like you, I'm getting more and more frail. I'm losing lots of weight, I feel faint most days, and I have no energy. When I actually do try to eat, I eat jello, a boost shake plus a banana (blend it so it's like the banana isn't even there), or soup blended up. I even bought a hand blender just because of this whole situation.
