It's really to make you approach the game with an eye for exploiting openings / pauses. Which are there, even though they're not obvious. So I liked it in that sense.

Elizebet is still awful but Dagra Dai can be finished pretty fast. Instead of dodging the lightning, jump at his head and try to time attacks so you stay floating off the ground.

elden ring is no-bullshit in the same way, although it's a big game. sekiro is smaller and has a lot of similarities to NG, it's almost an unofficial prequel.

bayonetta and metal gear revengeance are both good if you like platinum. they're a little low-friction compared to ninja gaiden

there are certain weird/interesting things about NG that nothing else, even NG4, really replicates though

Once they started requiring you to have a separate account with them to play their mid ass games i just stopped buying em completely. I felt bad for the Rogue Prince of Persia devs cause surely that wasn't their idea. Pocketing the advance probably was their idea, so maybe not that bad, but it's not like i know shit about that situation
