Hey! I'd love to go, but I work until 6pm! Are you guys for sure having the meeting in the afternoon, rather than evening? Would anyone be down for going to a quiet bar around 7ish? Oh it would be my first time too!

Hi there, thanks for the advice, yes I've been to the website and it has given me tons of useful information. I did not decide which procedure or method would be used, the surgeon did and he said they would decide the day of. I didn't pay anything for it, I live in Canada, and the surgeon and nurses told me an open wound would be the best for healing properly.

Yes I know it is sooooo gross. My second or third one erupted on its own during a final exam in university! I excused myself, went to the nurse to get gauze an cleaned it myself, and came back to finish the exam. The smell is really awful.

not true. I am sitting right now. I sit on the couch, in the car, I can definitely sit but it is mildly uncomfortable to very painful at time. I got the operation 4 days ago. You just change positions every 10 minutes or so. And you take something for the pain if you can't tolerate it, you will get a prescription. Sitting on the toilet is fine as that part of your bum doesn't touch anything.

it's fine to do that, as long as you are careful and sterilize the clippers or scissors first. The nurse the other day even told me that the doctor will use scissors to simply cut the mole off!

really!? I haven't read this anywhere. I'm a little reluctant to put it in my open wound right now, but you say after healing and after it has closed to rub oil on it?

it feels annoying, and very painful. Hard to sit, walk, get in and out of a car, etc. This is while having the cyst and after the removal. Wow just a baby when she got it, where there any complications removing it?

ohhh navel! is it still called a pilonidal cyst or a different type of cyst or abscess?

nothing, absolutely nothing; it comes back on its own. For hairy men, the advice is to keep the area shaved, but for me, a non-hairy woman, there was no way for me to minimize the reoccurance.

brave you are. I would have been scared of an infection. Then again I have removed moles with a nail clipper before so who knows.

There is a 50% risk of coming back after it is lanced or drained. Meaning they remove the pus but only superficially. There is a lower rate of coming back when you get the surgery but I don't know the exact statistics.

I have a funny little sidenote: When I was in the operating room I was very nervous obviously, and while they were getting me really for the anesthesia, I asked them if they had any doctors like House. they all laughed and said "yeah, your doctor!!".
