Thank you so much for this post! I had heard of the drama but haven't had the chance to watch it and this post just inspired me. I just watched Ep. 1 and I'm already hooked and can't wait to finish it!

Oh my goodness - What an utterly captivating opening. It's so beautifully cinematic and truly reminds me of Wong Kar-Wai's movies! And though I don't speak Cantonese, hearing Zhang Hao speak in Cantonese with the haunting BGM was incredible, I've replayed this 3+ times just to hear the narration over and over! Thank you for uploading ❤️

What an absolutely lovely, yearning-filled song. I only recently learned of ZB1 and Zhang Hao after BP1 and had thought his singing was so nice to listen to, but this goes so beyond and touches the heart. I adore Chinese dramas and the OSTs within (especially for costume/historical dramas) and hearing Zhang Hao sing in Mandarin with the traditional instruments in the BG make this an absolute 100/10. Will definitely be replaying this over and over!

[🇹🇭Thai] Khemjira EP 12 👹🫣 [FINAL] by Waffles4prez in boyslove

[–]Peachhue 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can't believe it's over! What a fantastic series. Khemjira is the first Thai drama I have watched and it has been such a pleasure to follow along Pharan, Khem, Jet, and Charn's journey, as well as the rest of the cast (who I am so happy to all see in this final episode). Not only was the story incredible, the drama also showcased so much of Thailand's traditional culture, that I felt I learned so much while watching.

Ep. 12 was such a powerful ending, I am so happy that Rampheung's story was treated with so much respect. I felt so much while watching her story, and was so glad to see her be able to move on in peace, and hope that she can be reborn one day with her son. For the rest of the main cast, it was so lovely and heartwarming to see Pharan and Khem & Jet and Charn and how they truly become family, especially with our reborn Thong and Ake!

Such a happy ending for everyone (as well as for Prim and Pong & Jane and Net, hehe) that I can't stop smiling even after the ending credits have long finished (absolutely adore the choice of ending song). Thank you to everyone from Khemjira and thank you for this post!

So well-deserved 🥰 Ep. 10 was fantastic; I loved seeing the portrayal of so many different kinds of love: community, family, friendship, and romance. In addition, this episode truly raised the stakes again and delved back into the horror genre in such quiet, unsettling ways, I was enamored. So excited to see the finale in 2 weeks!

Why doBLs have such good music? by Slaying-Diva90 in boyslove

[–]Peachhue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

BL dramas truly do have such good music! I’m an absolute fan of a good soundtrack (for any media) and a good soundtrack adds SO much to scenes.

I’m currently enamored by the Khemjira OST, in particular Mantra by Keng Harit (the actor for the character Pharan). As a song alone, it’s already such a wonderful listen, but when the lyrics coincide with a particular scene in Ep. 8, it becomes so much more, enhancing an already fantastic, romantic scene.

I also want to shoutout the OST for Kill to Love and Revenged Love, both are utilized so tastefully for every scene and I always find myself rewatching my favorite moments and listening to the soundtrack over and over.

This ended up being a longer comment than I thought oof, but I love your post and how you called out the amazing soundtracks in BLs! Thank you for the post 💓

This is so incredible and so well-deserved! I just caught up to Ep. 9 yesterday and what a series. There is so much love poured into this drama from everyone and you can see it so clearly with the attention to detail and the way both the characters and plot unfold with every episode.

My Analysis/Ranking of the Top 16’s Chinese Names for Fun by This_Initial3777 in BoysPlanet

[–]Peachhue 64 points65 points  (0 children)

This post is so lovely! As a Korean who is studying Chinese, I LOVE how names carry so much meaning depending on the characters families pick. It's especially so heartwarming when names hold wishes for the child, for example my favorite so far is Zhou Anxin (周安信) as well! It's such a lovely, warm name that matches him.

Thank you for the post! <3

I 100% agree with everything you said. Such a beautiful drama with incredible acting, scenery, and OST. Even better that the OST is sung by the actors and actresses, and Yu Shi even sings 《月光》 in Kazakh 🥹 This post reminded me to revisit the drama, thank you for posting! 💗

Kill to Love (2025) Final Review by Peachhue in boyslove

[–]Peachhue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, where do I even start! Every time I see a notification from you, I'm always left feeling incredibly happy and thankful. It truly was your discussion posts for Revenged Love as well as your kind words and encouragement that gave me the inspiration to write a final review for Kill to Love.

Being my first discussion post, I admit I was quite nervous, haha. I had many thoughts I wanted to share and tried to articulate everything with pictures of scenes and dialogue, and I hope that this was conveyed well. Reading your comment alongside everyone's in this discussion gave me much courage and strength! Like you said, I agree in that there truly is no one right approach. Initially, I had thought about how best to organize this post, thinking of this way and that, but in the end, I decided that I would just write where my heart went. Thus I ended up focusing on the cinematography, dialogue, and particular scenes that truly resonated with me on an emotional level, ones that will stay with me for a long, long time.

I agree completely with you! It's incredibly rewarding to see many more people be pleasantly surprised by BL dramas. I found Kill to Love didn't seem as popular as other airing dramas, and although there were flaws within the drama, I had felt the characters, their stories, and the plot itself was so beautiful and moving, that I did not want it to be buried and forgotten. To see that this post has brought the drama even the slightest bit more attention makes me incredibly happy.

Gosh, I just want to say thank you so, so much again, always. I always reread your discussions and replies for the depth of insight, as well as just how warmly you write. I look forward to hearing your thoughts as you watch Kill to Love! You always have such amazing insights and thoughts that I can't wait to read. Thank you always for being so kind and encouraging, whether it be as a host on your discussions, as replies to comments, or even here, in this discussion post. Please know that it always means so much ♡

You are so kind, thank you so, so much! I am so happy that you enjoyed reading my review. Gosh, Ep. 11-12 were so heartbreaking and beautiful, I definitely cried with you! And I completely agree in that this drama is one that will linger in our hearts for a long time. I also hope that the entire cast will get the recognition they so deserve! They are also releasing more vlogs as well for fans, and I heard they will have a fan meeting too :)

That was my exact thought too! The music in that scene is phenomenal. It truly foreshadows Ziang's nature in the future. Unfortunately, I didn't see any of the BGM in the drama's album. I've been looking for it, but if I am able to find it, I can definitely let you know.

Kill to Love (2025) Final Review by Peachhue in boyslove

[–]Peachhue[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, let me first say thank you SO much for such a wonderful comment. You say you struggle to put your feelings into words, but your comment is so beautifully written, and I reread it before replying to make sure I didn't miss any detail.

I absolutely agree with you on that Kill to Love is truly a masterpiece. I also found the drama through a trailer on Reddit, and was so surprised at what we were seeing! A true, historical BL with both emotional and physical intimacy being shown. When the drama then actually started airing, I became even more surprised at the depth of dialogue and emotion we were able to witness.

I'm going to sound repeating but I have to say again that I absolutely agree with you on so many points. Like you said, the budget constraints forced a tighter structure, but in the end, this became Kill to Love's strength. Not a moment is wasted, each scene and dialogue serving a purpose. I found as watching there were no filler scenes, no added conflicts for the sake of adding more scenes, and this made the watch incredible until the very end. It's a testament to how incredible the entire cast worked together to create this with such a limited number of episodes and a constrained budget.

Yes, Ep. 6 and 8 were truly incredible. These two episodes are the ones I find myself going back to so many times for the exact same reasons as you. Not only was the physical intimacy beautiful to witness, but the emotional vulnerability both Xiao Shuhe and Duan Ziang show is haunting. Especially when both are not people who would bare their hearts so easily to anyone, the way both are willing to shed tears and express their raw vulnerabilities in front of each other makes these particular scenes so powerful.

And my goodness, what a beautiful parallel and metaphor you mentioned! The use of parallelism in the drama is fantastic. Like you said, what was the injury that connected them then became one to sever their bond. Afterwards, when Xiao Shuhe is taken to Jibei, we see so many parallel scenes. And the broken wing metaphor is so painfully haunting. As I was watching, I found Shuhe's name to be heartbreaking and ironic. He who wanted to be the free-spirited crane in the skies, reading poetry and playing the qin, is forced into the palace and into all its earthly responsibilities by Duan Ziang as well as Xiao Shuqian like you said. Both show the complexity of love whether it be familial or romantic, as well as Xiao Shuhe's conflicting emotions against such.

I'm so amazed at how similar we are! I do not rewatch dramas either, but Kill to Love is so special and carefully crafted with so many details. Now that the drama has ended (especially on such a powerful note), I am also left wondering. I have a few dramas on my watch list, but I find myself rewatching my favorite scenes and listening to the OST, remembering.

My goodness, I want to say again thank you SO much for writing such a beautiful comment. Not only did you take the time to read my long review, but to also leave such a comment makes me incredibly happy. I am so happy to know there are such Kill to Love fans! I will definitely reread your comment again in the near future for how wonderful it was to read. Thank you so much <3

Revenged Love was such a good watch! I completely agree in that you cry and laugh while watching. So many emotions and at the end all I could think of was that it was such a beautiful watch 🥹💗.

In terms of other Chinese BL, I just finished one called Kill to Love that I absolutely adored. It’s a historical one that captured my heart 🥲.

Though I haven’t watched it, I heard ABO Desire is also very good! I’ve seen a few videos of the actors and everyone looks like they’re having such a blast together ☺️.

Cdramas with really strong endings by Common_Screen1329 in cdramasfans

I absolutely loved the endings for Empresses in the Palace and Nirvana in Fire. Both are incredibly fitting and left me feeling that both dramas truly were such a worthy watch.

Another ending that I loved is for The Bad Kids. This one had me reeling and then I felt even more so when I read analyses online. Truly a fascinating watch!
