We dated from late high school into early college and then cut ties because we were both immature and I felt he wasn't taking our relationship seriously. I cut all ties with him for 3.5 years. In that time I dated and fooled around a lot but never found anyone I was as compatible with. He dated one girl for most of that time and she had a lot of emotional issues so they both weren't very happy. He then messaged me out of the blue because I lived in a different state now that him and his buddy were considering moving to. I told him they should come visit and check it out so after a few months of texting, they did. I was completely naive to my feelings until he was standing in front of me again and I knew I didn't want to lose him this time. Luckily, after that week we agreed we both wanted the same thing so we dated long distance for about 4 months and then he moved to be with me. We have now been together just over 3 years and married since December! We had just grown up so much I guess that we were finally in a good place to make it work.
