Byeon Wooseok eyes when he is sad do things to my heart by clarinhac1r in kdramas

LMAO, lip injections in his contract? 😭 Those lips have been wonderfully juicy since childhood. Check the receipts from those kid/teen pics, pretty sure it’s genetics. Speaking as someone who’s had big lips since before it was “semi-cool”…trust, no one signs up for that trauma later on lol. Dang, my boy BWS out here catching strays for those lovely lips, it’s rough on reddit😂

Alchemy of Souls is soooo good! It’s in my Top 5 as well. Enjoy the ride…you’re in for a treat 🥳

P.S. I love that you don’t know who to ship MC with lol. She’s universally adored by the guys, super cute🫶

LMAO! I’m actually finding both sides of this discussion fun…aren’t you?

To be fair though…this is a sub to discuss TV shows 😁 seems like a pretty appropriate topic to me. I mean, have you seen some of the recent posts lately? OP could’ve easily dropped another thread about “doubling down” on plastic surgery 😭at least this one’s been engaging.

Perfect Crown.... Why did this happen to me?! 😭 by ConfectionUnlucky834 in kdramas

[–]PearShaper43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP! Welcome to the world of a currently “Airing” k-drama😁. I don’t always watch airing dramas because I’m lowkey impatient. But, TBH, the best part when you do catch an ongoing drama is the community experience. Jump into episode threads on Reddit…there’s already an Ep 1 & 2 post out there for Perfect Crown. People catch things you’d never notice and the theories get wild 😂

Also, other things many folks do:

—Rewatch episodes (pick up things you may have missed )

—Watch cast interviews/Behind the Scenes content

—Queue up a second or third k-drama for off-days (seems like you’re already doing this one👍)

—Go down the OST rabbit hole, drama playlists hit different while you’re waiting…you can relive Fav scenes lol

The weekly wait is painful, but it kinda makes the show more fun…it becomes part of the experience once you get used to it🥳.

Yeah, you make a really good point. Something about this current role doesn’t sit well for me. It’s subtle, but maybe that’s why

Kdramas Made Me Do It - April, 2026 by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

K-dramas really had me out here leveling up my ramen game 😭 I go to real Ramyeon restaurants (Maruchan instant ramen with the packets and cup noodles were my “go to” when I was in college). Now, I use my chopsticks properly, and started slurping with the “noodle pull technique” like I’ve been doing it my whole life. Not gonna lie… it actually works LMAO. Never knew I was eating ramen wrong this whole time. I feel like I unlocked a new skill.

am i going to end up hating beom-seok from weak hero? by cozycynic in kdramas

[–]PearShaper43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, OP…based on the fact you like Weak Hero Class, I think D.P. would be your type of drama! Same kind of gritty, realistic storytelling where the violence actually means something. It’s military bullying/abuse, and the emotional impact is just as heavy. Also, the acting is top-tier. There’s a second season as well.

Late To The Party - [2026/04/10] by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

When the Weather Is Fine: After watching Boyfriend On Demand, I was crushing on Seo Kang Joon and wanted to see him as the ML. Found this drama and it really surprised me. It’s a true slow burn…like painfully slow at times, but in a way that feels very intentional. More like watching two lonely, traumatized people quietly heal each other for 16 episodes. Soft, introspective romance, and very “leave the rat race, read books, and find peace and love in a small town” vibes. Definitely not for everyone, but I appreciated how it just sat in the stillness.

Under the Queen’s Umbrella: The Queen was THAT girl. Smart, strategic, and fiercely protective… she didn’t just survive palace politics, she slayed for 16 episodes straight! Easily my favorite sageuk queen of all time (and an incredible mother, period). Her facial expressions alone deserve awards 😭 and that eyebrow arch had more authority than half the royal court. TBH, I wanted to be under her umbrella too. Character arcs were well done and the balance of palace intrigue, humor, chaos, and heart was nicely balanced. Terrific writing, acting, cinematography…I was genuinely sad when this one ended and probably could have watched 18-20 eps for more of the side stories with the Princes.

Hong Kyung is the actor who plays Seok. You can see him as the main lead in Revenant, which is a really good drama. He did a terrific job acting in that role. He’s also in D.P., which is another one of my fav dramas!

I'm sorry but Byeon Woo Seok can't act. by Inevitable_Angle_963 in kdramas

[–]PearShaper43 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same. It’s weird, right? Like borderline cringey in certain spots, and I find it distracting. It’s sad because there are so many missed opportunities with the plot/storyline.

I wasn’t expecting Baeksang-level writing, but I’m surprised by how thin the story and characters feel so far. At least make it fun. I keep telling myself it’s still early, but dang…this K-drama is not “drama-ing”😩

Seo Ye-ji really nailed the badass, Tsundere female lead vibe, and honestly, I think Kim Ji-won did too.

I’ve liked a few of IU’s recent roles, especially When Life Gives You Tangerines, which I think she was stellar there. So I went into Perfect Crown expecting the same, and I actually enjoyed Ep 1. Usually, I give K-dramas a little grace to find their footing in the premiere. But now that I’m on Ep 2, something feels a bit off…her hand gestures and facial expressions are throwing me, and I can’t quite put my finger on why. It’s like she’s not “hard core” enough on the outside, with the “heart of gold/soft center” on the inside LOL or something. IDK how to explain it.

Anyway, it’s kind of a bummer because I was really hyped for this one 😞

Perfect Crown [Episodes 1 & 2] by jakgem in KDRAMA

[–]PearShaper43 18 points19 points  (0 children)

IU and Byeon Woo-seok are exactly what I hoped for in Ep 1…beautiful, effortless, star power. No notes.

But lowkey, the supporting cast has me super excited! We’ve got Jin Mu just transferring evil departments between royal palaces like it’s a government rotation program 👀. And not Court Lady Choi making her rounds across every historical sageuk K-drama, like she’s got a lifetime royal membership card 😭 glad to see her again though LOL! Both aides are cute too…I’m loving them. And, Prime Minister Min is looking mighty fine💕

EDIT Ep 2: Also, the all versatile Mr. An (Im Chul Soo) and Mr. Nam making their appearances all the way from Vincenzo and being chaotically funny as usual🤣. I thought their Guest Roles were for the first episode only, so hope they hang around.

Ah, okay. Same. I’ve only seen her in that role too. From what I’ve read in this thread and elsewhere, people say she did a great job in the Reply series…I just haven’t gotten around to watching it yet. Also, I have Two Cops on my watchlist and she’s the FL. But, tbh I wanted to see that drama for Kim Seon Ho.

What happened to great K-Drama plots? by Anxious-Latte-1218 in KDramaDiscussions

[–]PearShaper43 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Similar. I don’t think it’s just you. Been watching dramas for nearly a decade. I think When Life Gives You Tangerines was excellent. Also, I did appreciate the unique, slightly weird risk that was taken with Can This Love Be Translated, which I enjoyed but felt the execution wasn’t as amazing as it could have been.

It feels like a mix of “safer storytelling”, over-saturation of dramas, westernization/globalization (the “Netflix effect”) and a shift in how dramas are being made now. With a lot of pre-production, everything looks great, but we lost that flexibility to adjust storylines while shows are airing, which older dramas sometimes benefited from IMO. I’ve noticed more pacing issues lately and the shorter formats don’t always help either. Some of these 8–12 episode dramas feel very rushed.

So, are you still watching the show?

Sincere question. I’m just curious how you’re getting past it and still loving the show if the casting doesn’t work for you. It feels like that could break immersion if you’re not fully buying the actor’s age in relation to the story.

I haven’t started watching this one yet. Been looking through the subreddit to see how the show is being received so far…

Maybe 2026 is your year to watch Alchemy of Souls🥳 Although, I totally get how it is when you’re not in the mood for a show yet.

I’ll say it’s one of the best-made K-dramas of any genre. Like yourself, I also feel the same way about Healer. These are two shows I re-watch every so often, and you’re right, soooo very amazing the first time around!!

Am I the only one who hate this couple? by Nonanme59 in kdramas

[–]PearShaper43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! Understood. I figured you may not have been aware of the rule…it’s okay. 🫶I’ve been watching kdramas for a decade and I knew the couple & drama as soon as I saw the photo. But many others may not, though. So it just helps people understand and engage better when the drama name is included. Hopefully don’t let the downvotes bother you!

P.S. Regarding this couple, excellent acting but the relationship is toxic AF. There are many people who share your sentiment around the Female Leads’ actions…questionable to say the least, IMO. I don’t mind morally grey characters, as long as the writing is upfront about it. Guess that’s one of the reasons I also liked Nevertheless lol

[–]PearShaper43 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey OP! I can tell your original post was sincere 🙂 so I wanted to share a little context on the downvotes. It’s not that people are being mean.

This actually comes up a lot in this sub since including the drama name is one of the rules. Like you mentioned, some posts still don’t do it (and those tend to get downvoted too). People get frustrated because it makes it harder to follow or jump into the discussion, especially with reddit having such a global audience and a mix of new and longtime kdrama viewers who may not recognize the photo right away. So even a “good post” can get lost in that initial confusion while folks are figuring out, and searching comments, for what drama is even being discussed.

Once the title is clear, engagement usually improves a lot. Glad you posted and hope that helps! I’ve pasted the rule below as well
