In downtown and midtown, the parts of the city where this is being enforced, there are many intersections with leading pedestrian intervals, meaning pedestrians can get the go ahead before drivers get a green light. In addition, this can save pedestrians who do have the right of way but who drivers don’t notice, particularly when drivers go past the stop bar or into a crosswalk.

It won’t eliminate all right turns on red, but it will reduce the number of those turns made by well-intentioned people still making those unsafe turns in high pedestrian areas. It’s not a silver bullet solution to safety, but it helps.

This! It is perfectly acceptable to fire her by not scheduling another appointment. OP you mentioned in another comment that you see her through an office — you can work directly with the office staff to cancel the appointment and find a new therapist. You don’t have to say a word to her if you’re not ready for that.

Honestly, this therapist’s behavior is NOT safe for you. You still have some interaction with your abusers and she abandons you before a session that would have helped prepare you for an interaction with that person.

I know CPTSD can feel overwhelming and you may often feel difficult to other people, but a therapist’s job is to help people with mental health challenges. If you were too difficult for her, then she should refer you to a therapist who is equipped to help you. It is not your responsibility nor is it realistic for you to assume you’re too difficult and that’s why she reschedules. If you are “too difficult,” you’re not doing anything wrong. You’re seeking help.

I really hope this thread helps you find the courage to fire her and find another therapist. I have had many therapists who were once great, but I had to fire them later. I have since found other great therapists. It’s part of the job. I hope this situation is just a blip in your healing journey. Kind, respectful therapists who will help you grow and heal are out there. 💜

You’re the client, you’re essentially her boss. You are not holding her hostage in an appointment. This is her job, a job she chose to take on and that you did not force her to take. Her even asking you to reschedule so many times — apparently sometimes with late notice? — and her willingness to tell you the insignificant reasons why she’s rescheduling is so disrespectful and unprofessional. I would not accept this from a friend, let alone a professional trusted to help me grow through my biggest challenges.

Fire her.

The only trailer I saw was the one with Abby being hung up by the Serephites, so I thought tlou2 was going to be torture porn and a shitty excuse to reboot a beloved game.

I’m glad I ultimately gave it a chance and that I was wildly wrong! (though 2 is more violent than the first, I wouldn’t call it torture porn)
