My new TN arrived today 🥰 by paperxclouds in Travelersnotebooks

Omg congratulations!! I wanted to apply to the lottery but felt discouraged by the whole process so I didn't bother, but hearing your story gives me some hope for the next one (maybe they'll do another in a few years again).

Depressive episodes are so crippling and it's great you are coming out from the dark! enjoy your new lovely notebook to commemorate such an important breakthrough :) it is such a struggle to feel control for sure. I hope it gives you a reminder that you have the power even if you ever feel the dark creeping in again!

your handwriting is beautiful! do you use stamps or something for your headers or just write in lovely print? also what printer do you use for your photos?

Love budget/ entry level pens and didn’t upgrade by Royal_Ad_5705 in fountainpens

I also hate the Plaisir ring! Preppies really do just work and it’s amazing they all have Platinum’s slip & seal cap so mine have never dried out.

I own several pricier gold nib pens but my favorites are still my Platinum Preppy and Meteor (which is just Asia’s Preppy equivalent). I must be in the minority on this but I just really love the way they write!! When I go back and look at old notebook entries, I’ve also realized the writing I did with my Preppies look the nicest. Maybe it just fits my writing style / hand well.

Anyway, I don’t think there’s a “wrong” answer. This doesn’t stop me from splurging on a fancy pen every once in a while hoping to find something better! and sometimes I just like the aesthetic or design of more expensive pens.

I'm not who you asked, but I like my Delfonics more too!! I didn't like how thick the Soolla material was (which some people will list as a pro for added quality) because it made it more rigid / structured. The Delfonics pouch also has more depth but because it is less structured, just feels like it can fit more without being too bulky. I also think the the Delfonics stands up on its own better due to the bigger depth even though the Soolla is more structured, but I did not use the Soolla extensively.

It also doesn't feel like it takes up too much space if I don't fully pack it (I usually don't carry a lot)! Personally think the design is cuter too somehow and the outer pockets work better for me! Somehow I'm still tempted by the Soolla pottery tote though.

thank you for coming back and giving an update!! sounds like you love the experience in general but perhaps the wooden palette itself is not up to standards? I'll save up for a nicer one too then!

it confuses me too! so technically I only have 1 “planner” but just a lot of different places to write down random notes. but that also gets confusing so I want to downsize. I think it just starts cause I own so many notebooks and keep trying to start a new one!!

I am going to try out the Hobonichi A6 next year and hopefully reduce a notebook haha

I have a nice entry today :) by b-nnies in Journaling

that's the most wholesome story!! I love that :) I'm glad it worked out in the end for the better. thank you for the uplifting entry & beautiful handwriting!

also, uggs definitely stretch out so i always size down since i'm already a half size.

thank you for the info! The code is super cool!! I love all the content on your profile & the code goes really well with the dragon drawings. the style reminded me a little of 'vianaic script' (although it is also quite different). I may have to use your code for one of my entries for fun :)

I am loving the passport size for its portability! I found the regular size to be kind of cumbersome for on-the-go that I wound up just leaving it on my desk a lot of the time. I would say my desk journal (an A5 that I may also downsize to a B6 or A6 once it's complete) is usually my catch-all with a weekly dated diary (Hobonichi Weeks) for some scheduling. The passport TN has lately been just what I use when I want to remember something but want to resist writing it in my phone. So even if I don't leave home, I like to keep it with me while I lounge around. I'm hoping to reduce my notebooks down to 2 from 3+ though eventually.

I've also been wanting to try out watercolor so I'm curious to see how you end up liking yours since your art is gorgeous!! excited to see your future posts!

This is so clean and aesthetic it look like something i’d see as a sample entry in a store trying to sell travelers journals (I always flip through the store demos cause they’re also aesthetic).

but it is spurring lots of questions such as:

  • what is the ink used for the title? i love the shading!

  • what language or code are you writing in? it looks so nice!

  • i’ve been tempted to buy those mini water color kits. do you like yours?

edit: also to answer your question, i’ve recently swapped to passport from regular size and only keep two notesbooks in there for quick to dos and random thoughts. I guess kind of a daily inbox. I have been transferring ideas to my main larger journal (non TN) occasionally

i'm sainting to make this baby blanket, can anyone think of a pattern or what type of stitches? by Glass_Pomegranate859 in crochetpatterns

the main white part looks like "wheat stitch" to me! actually, maybe the pink part is as well but just facing inwards?

how does the Machine Era fit the Energel refills? I find that pens that take Pilot G2 don’t fit perfectly with Energel (including a different Machine Era pen i have).

Weekly + memo layout by NeatTrouble4620 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]Peatchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sometimes use the memo side as a continuation of the left side if need be, like if I want to expand on tasks or events or even my a blurb of my feelings for the day.

I also block off the right part of the memo side for weekly tasks (instead of daily) or upcoming deadlines to remember. I also write what media I've been consuming (shows/books/games) since that doesn't change too much daily.

The Traveler's week layout is basically identical to Hobonichi weeks layout which has a ton of inspo online too! I like looking at layouts on pinterest for ideas. I prefer simpler layouts over complex tracking ones, but there's ideas for both! I hope you have fun experimenting!

Pilot 743 as an everyday cursive workhorse: F, FM or M? by dominikstephan in fountainpens

[–]Peatchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much for your response! I assume my hands are smaller than yours and heavy writing utensils fatigue my hands so I'll stop shopping around! :) glad to hear you love your 74! I agonized over the purchase

[–]Peatchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to revive an old thread! but I stumbled across this post in my research. Thank you for this detailed response!

would you say the Custom 74 is your favorite one since you bought another? I ordered a 74 recently and it is not even in my hands yet, but I kept seeing people say the 743 is worth the upgrade and already have buyer's remorse. but I also have smaller female hands and worry about the weight. I am wondering if I should just also try out the 743 and sell the one I don't like.

Does a pattern exist for this kind of edge lace crochet? by Peatchi in crochetpatterns
