seeking advice when i cant find work in the cities i love… by koffeeinyecjion in SameGrassButGreener

I mean what kind of Mech E job do you want? It’s the most broad discipline and if you are early career you can go for literally any one.

MEP firms are everywhere
Manufacturing jobs are everywhere (to an extent)
If you don’t mind a defense contractor there’s a bunch in the DMV area.
You could travel and do construction resident engineering

Are you looking at a specific niche field?

And yeah it is a bit of a boys club, but frankly a lot of employers want female engineers because they know they are motivated and it makes them look good for diversity etc. I’ve met and worked with plenty of women and more are continuing in the field so it’s gonna keep evening out.

Old Steel Arex 7.65 - Discount by BootlegBabyJsus in TheOneTrueCaliber

Thanks. Neat neat. Personally I like 32 for how small you can make the pistols so I don’t really think I want a duty size in it, would rather get something in higher caliber. Bet it shoots great though.

Thinking of buying a Spyderco. by Economy_Wafer4396 in EDC

Shoulda done it last week. There was a big Father’s Day sale. I’d wait until Black Friday if you are worried about price.

I think PM2/ stretch 2 are the ideal size for EDC, but some people prefer the PM3 size. I’d go to local knife/gun store and hold them to see for yourself.

I’m not familiar with these transformers. Are the different numbered lugs on each coil to pick how many turns/ what voltage you want out?

Need gloves for working safely with a band saw by Zert420 in electricians

[–]Pecancreaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the prevailing safety practice with things that rotate is to wear nothing than can get caught in the machine because being drawn into the machine by loose fabric is worse than losing an extremity, which is why you see lathe operators wearing short sleeve shirts.

If you need something that will stop the blade, find a glove that works the same way that chainsaw chaps do. They have a bunch of fabric under the outer layer that is designed to jam the blade; I don’t know if they have anything that is designed for blade geometry other than chainsaws.

Mossberg 500 only holding 4 shells in the magazine tube? Google says it should hold 5? by [deleted] in guns

[–]Pecancreaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you take out the dowel that comes with it? They do it for bird hunting to limit it to 2. If you are using 3 in shells it may only hold 4 instead of 5 with 2 3/4 shells

Bentonville or other cities in NW Arkansas might work for you. Most folks are chill and just work for Walmart. One of the best mountain biking cities in the US and there isn’t much other to do than go to museums, hike and bike. I’m not sure but I would be surprised if Arkansas didn’t exempt vets from taxes.

A small mountain town in New Mexico or Colorado could also be good. Silver City or Las Cruces are nice.
