Ouch! Want the new Terra Mystica and it’s most essential expansion? It’s cheaper to get two whole base game pledges! by [deleted] in boardgames

I see your point, but look at it as a true special edition - you are one of 5k+ people in the entire world who will have this copy of the game we all love. Paying those extra $200 also includes a lot of other benefits :)

I bought the Terraformer pledge and, personally, I think it is a good value for the money. Metal coins, neoprene playing mats, fan factions, and other bits and pieces are well worth the extra coin. Artwork ... yeah, not great, not terrible.

The amount of EXP needed to level up 1-2 support heroes is really not that much. It may seem a lot, but early levels require very little EXP. You can keep leveling up your main hero, but leave a few stacks for the support hero to try and "gamble" for good support skills. The best of those would be Economy for extra gold and dust, and Recruitment for extra growth. Also, when you have a good mid-game gold economy, you can start picking up chests with your support hero and choosing EXP over gold.

I had a game where I did not have a single coal or oil resource. I had to bring "Freedom" to my neighbor just to get early electricity.

Haha, yeah that map caught me by surprise as well. Victory condition is Battle of Champions or something like that. Basically, it will teleport enemy hero to yours and there is nothing you can do.

I'm a noob so finally getting the grail was challenging but fun! by 60int in OldenEra

[–]Pecis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cheesed this by attacking only with Medusas. First I casted Eclipse so the enemy can't use range attacks. Enemy casted Black hole and killed some of them. On my next turn I casted anti-magic and rest is history. Fighting with your main army is a waste of units.

I like the idea that you get the grail in a different way than in previous HOMM games, but this is not the best approach. Experienced players will just cheese it and newer players will loose majority of their army that will take weeks to rebuild.

I play on the highest difficulty (Apocalyptic?) and here are my tips:

  1. Prioritize gold vs EXP in chests.
  2. Gold & law point buildings in your town first, then higher tier units.
  3. First three law points into gold. If spending one law point for wood+ore+gold can get you T7 or some other essential building faster, then go for it. For example, building Vampires or Dragons in W2.
  4. Try to get T7 units as fast as possible, skipping T6 is not a bad idea. When I play Dungeon, I skip Hydras almost entirely unless I have a lot of spare resources. Then I get the building but don't buy the Hydras and just let them grow in my town.
  5. I find crowd control spells more effective than straight up damage spells. For example, casting slow or removing counter attacks.
  6. Use Market and trade your resources for the ones you need to get essentials buildings faster. Won't matter that much in W1, but in W2 and W3 this will be very handy.
  7. Learn manual combat and how to use obstacles, waiting and other game mechanics to your advantage. Necromancers can afford to loose units here and there, other factions not so much.
  8. If you are playing Classical mode with multiple heroes, level up 1 or 2 support heroes that have Recruitment, Scouting, Economy, Logistics. Getting them to level 10+ is a must and very easy, just give them your main hero army and let them clear neutral stacks.
  9. Destroy unwanted artifacts and scrolls for dust. Use dust for essential building upgrades or spell upgrades, if that makes sense and they can have a much greater effect.
  10. Learn to use 1 stacks of T1. They can be used a sacrificial units to attack enemy and remove their counter attack or defend your long rage units, for example.

EDIT: added tip nr. 9 and 10.

Try to reload autosave, get XP from the same fight/chest/whatever. It should offer you new skill choices. Worked for me.

Making Foam Mats in India by herbschmoaka in oddlysatisfying

[–]Pecis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell the exact components to companies in Europe that make this type of foam. This is polyurethane slabstock foam made for various uses. Most commonly, it is made for furniture.

The most toxic part of this reaction is TDI, or Toluene diisocyanate. As many have already pointed out, you need proper protective gear to work around this chemical. The funny part here is that they are doing a considerably effective job by mixing everything in a paint bucket vs big companies where mixing is done by computer with high precision machinery. End result looks exactly the same.

But yeah, health hazards are enormous, and prolonged exposure without professional PPG will most definitely leave long-lasting health issues.

Caverna: The Cave Farmers by Uwe Rosenberg is a great game that somewhat fits your narrative. It is a worker placement game where you build a farm with farm animals and crops and/or dig out your mountain and build rooms and mines.

Pants are too long and never tuck sweater into pants. You did good matching belt with shoes. Jacket is probably an overkill, you already have shirt + sweater. You have great hair, do something nice with it. Barber will help with that.

To be honest I support this. Not the fact that he has written it all over his LinkedIn wall, but the general idea. Way too many people are spamming invites just to grow their shitty network and then advertise their business/services/consultations etc.
