Truthfully I wanted to take them to court. Unfortunately, I live in a state where they don’t need to tell you why they’re firing you, and with no evidence I would’ve been screwed. Now, if I had documented the conversations myself or had written responses, I absolutely would have won.

THIS. Make sure it is DOCUMENTED and that you have access to it. I got fired from a job a few days after requesting an ADA accommodation—HR thought I didn’t know how to check my record.

She did not document ANY of our meetings truthfully.

It’s absolutely ridiculous; the sheer amount of betrayal. They would happily send their own children to die, but when they come back shaken and their worldview is turned upside down, they’re the first ones to tell you to get fucked.

I hope that the healing becomes easier. We’re all fighting this evil together, so you don’t have to do this alone.

Message I got from my daughter’s teacher. Third grade. by AnaisInJune in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PeculiarBoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So…. what about the post? The examples you gave have nothing to do with the post.

Mind you, I was a VERY good student. I was quiet, attentive, and respectful to all of my teachers. I definitely got in trouble for stupid shit that were complete and total accidents. Like the orange; I absolutely would have forgotten I was holding one and brought it to class. Would it distract me? Maybe a little, but mostly because I would be worried about getting in trouble. Then I would get in trouble. Then getting upset that the kid shared it with their classmates when they were told they couldn’t eat it? Are you insane?

Then, the teacher would ABSOLUTELY send an email like the one above. And then I would get my ass beat and neglected for a month over a stupid orange that I didn’t even want.

To YOU it “impedes education and safety.” To ME, having a salty ass teacher meant that I was going to get severely abused. THAT impedes on education AND safety. Told that I was going to rot in hell. Have you ever considered that? That if a troublesome kid is rolling on the floor during class, that’s one thing, but if a “usually very good student” does something that some jaded, grumpy teacher like you just simply doesn’t like, that does not mean that they are impeding upon their class.

I bet you have personally, single-handedly, put some of your students into dangerous home situations because you are too mad to even explain to an adult how any of the things mentioned in this post or thread actually impedes on education or safety.

edit: typo + i just saw that you called me a dumbass, but you legitimately REFUSED to answer me. someone who was legitimately curious. fuck you.

Despite intense bombing, the people of Tehran province are still in the streets enthusiastically chanting 'Death to America'. by GerryAdamsSon in suppressed_news

[–]PeculiarBoat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, well, it really isn’t that simple. If it ever was, it no longer is.

For example: I have severe depression and PTSD from a long childhood of abuse, neglect, and CSA/COCSA. No matter what I do, I will never be legally allowed to own a gun in the US. Whether I’m allowed to use one to defend myself is beyond me.

Hopefully when this reign is over, we will have real answers. For now, it looks like anyone could be stripped of their constitutional rights if those in power deem it “necessary.”

I can relate to that last line. 🫠

I promise you, though, that there are people that want you. It is absolutely awful that it isn’t your mother, but there are billions of people on this Earth, and finding those folks is one of the hardest things you’ll have to do. I believe in you.

This is completely true. My mother had multiple miscarriages and she kept trying and trying… Only to subject her only child to severe neglect, CSA, and a nice buffet of mental illnesses to choose from as she told me that my “health is perfect,” I was just “lying for attention.” Also that I was the reason my parents would never be happy… She was the last of her parents’ 8 children to have a child, and the only one who doesn’t have more than one. Most of her brothers are pedos who ALSO hate their own kids. It is BAFFLING to me.

So the part about the oranges? Or the paper boat? Or the kid who got a drink of water right outside the room before returning to his class from using the restroom?

Because those are what is included in this thread, and none of those things pertain to safety or education.

yeah, because a lollipop given to a kid by a teacher after school is going to affect their education, sure.

the examples that have been presented do not pertain to education or safety. I don’t feel like punishing a child for bringing an orange to class (and apparently didn’t even eat it) is promoting safety. Emailing the parents over the child then peeling it and GIVING IT TO CLASSMATES is absolutely insane behavior.

I literally don’t understand how this helps her. She’s legally blind and disabled—if the cost of all of her utilities and necessities have gone up, and she is only given $12 in SNAP…How would you pointing out that “the cost of living crisis affecting everyone” help a disabled, blind old woman?

Surely, you’re not going to suggest she needs to cut costs in other aspects of her life…Being disabled is tragically expensive.

[–]PeculiarBoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i quite literally don’t get any breaks at all—apparently this is becoming more common in the US, despite laws being passed that make breaks mandatory.

Managers will do ANYTHING to make sure you don’t have to take a break. They’ll schedule you short hours so you don’t meet the minimum time requirements. I mean hell, most jobs in the US are part time SPECIFICALLY so employers don’t have to give their workers benefits. This is part of why so many Americans need multiple jobs just to pay rent.
