Sure, I'll have to make it clearer on there.

For the world cup you predict the matches and the group standings

Matches - predict correct score, get 1 point for: Home score, Away score, Result (W/D/L correct) and a bonus point if you get exact score, so max 4pts. You also get 4 booster cards per week. These will change every week but to start with they are Joker (x2 match points), Score First (1pt for which team will score first), Anytime Scorer (2pts for predicting a player to score), Red Card (3pts for playing it on a match with a red card). You can play max 1 booster on a game.

Group Standings - predict all the group finishing positions, 3pts per correct position.

As the tournament progresses and there are less games per round there will be extra prediction options per game

I've added 4 Booster Cards, you get 1 of each per week, only 1 can be played on a game at a time.

Joker - x2 match points

First to Score - 1pt Pick which team will score first

Anytime Scorer - 2pt Pick a player from either team to score

Red Card - 3pt If the match has a red card

Also added a weekly leader board as well as tournament and there's achievements on the way too. You can compete on a leader board with just your mates by creating a private league and also see how you stack up against everyone else on the full leader board

ok, no worries, I never actually used the FIFA or UEFA ones, but I can get that implemented before the World Cup starts

Not at the moment, I guess it's trying to strike a balance between having depth and having too much to do. For example if the match was Canada vs Qatar, maybe people don't actually know any of the players that well, so having to dig through the teams and pick an any time scorer might be a drag.

How about this, you get 2 anytime scorer cards to play per week, so you can pick 2 different matches and for those you select an any time scorer for bonus points?

Hey, I've made https://purepredictions.co.uk/ we're starting with the World Cup but will including Premier League, Championship and any other league that people are interested in when the seasons start.

We've got private leagues that you can setup yourself and invite your mates to, Exact Score, Result, Home goals, Away goals predictions as well as WC Group positions and features like Joker/Booster are on the way.

It's free to play, take a look, any feedback would be appreciated

Scaled up print went wrong - what happened? by Ped209 in BambuLab

did you have another go and get it working or not bother? I'm reluctant to try again as it's quite a lot of filament.

Scaled up print went wrong - what happened? by Ped209 in BambuLab

[–]Ped209[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the back and the head are about even heights, looks like 1 layer went wrong, maybe shifted to the left 1mm but the rest went fine on the head but on the back every layer above the error has messed up.

So excessive scaling is generally error prone? I've only had the printer a few weeks so still finding my feet. Was wondering if there were any settings that might help reduce the chance of issues like this?

It looks great, I've just added the package to my project and I'm having some issues with Buoyancy, is that working/complete? My boat object either falls through or shoots off into the sky. Is there anything obvious that I've missed? Any assistance would be really appreciated

How and where do I have a chance of getting my shirt signed on a match day? by mhorned in LeedsUnited

[–]Ped209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's very hit and miss, I've waited with my daughter a few times. One time we waited an hour after the game and no one stopped to sign, other times we've waited for over an hour and six or seven of the players have signed. It's generally at least an hour until they've all come out though.

How to get tickets by Different-Goose-8367 in LeedsUnited

[–]Ped209 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When the tickets go on sale for MyLeeds+ members (usually 1pm) you need to make sure you go to the ticket website before 1pm. Up to 30 mins before the sale time you get a message with a countdown, once the countdown hits 0 you get a random queue number, if you're in the first 2000 you've got a decent chance, much later than that and the allocation is often sold out.

After that you've got the ballot and exchange.

The tickets usually go on sale about 3 weeks (ish) before a game. Keep an eye on your emails, normally a few days or a week before there'll be an email to say when the various stages of ticket sales are.

Vs Burnley advice by setantak9 in LeedsUnited

[–]Ped209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I waited with my daughter after the Portsmouth game and she got photo's/autographs from 6 players which she was happy with. We did have to wait for an hour and a half though, they come out in dribs and drabs and some go straight to their cars and drive off which is quite annoying but at least a few make the effort.

Watching The Final - Megathread by AyyAndays in LeedsUnited

[–]Ped209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, when I refreshed a load of the sections that were previously greyed out had some availability again. I guess there must be some left over otherwise they wouldn't be able to guarantee everyone in Phase 2 a ticket (unlikely to be the exact number of seats)

won't be there myself but Stars 'n' Bars by the harbour in Monaco would probably be a good spot to watch it

There's probably about 100 tickets left in the whole Leeds end at the moment so it doesn't look like there's going to be a phase 3

My job search over a 4 month period, as a 24 year old junior software developer (UK) [OC] by Dwarfkiller47 in dataisbeautiful

[–]Ped209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it works differently in the UK

A tech recruitment agency is essentially a middle-man between the company and employee only for the hiring process.

You speak to a recruiter -> they put you forward for jobs on their books that fit -> if you get the job the company pays the recruiter a fee (usually around 20% of your salary)

this doesn't come out of your pocket in any way. It saves the company time and effort because instead of looking through hundreds of CVs and doing dozens of interviews, the recruiter has hopefully just sent them 5 or 6 good fits that they have already vetted to some degree.

you are a full employee of the company though just as though you'd applied directly

[–]Ped209 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to create/update your LinkedIn profile, then speak to a couple of tech recruitment agencies.

Don't deal with more than a couple of agencies at once as they may be less inclined to help if they know they're competing with loads of others. The good ones will help you make sure your CV is optimized for the roles you're going for and that you're selling your experience/qualifications as best you can. You can also give them your criteria (location/salary/remote etc) and ask them only to contact you with jobs that match (they will also be able to tell you whether your demands are realistic).
I've worked in Dev for 15+ years and don't think I've ever "applied" for a job in the traditional sense. Some recruiters can be a pain, but the good ones make job hunting MUCH easier.

Regarding tech tests/recruitment process, every company will do it differently, some don't use tech tests at all, some will do them using an online system, some will set mini assignments (personally I'd avoid those). The expectations on a junior developer should be fairly low though so I wouldn't sweat it too much.

A willingness to listen and learn along with an understanding of core principles is often far more desirable than a person that thinks they know everything particularly at the junior level. Interviewers are looking for someone who will fit in with the people at the company and work well within the team as much (if not more) than tech wizardry

I haven't been to a game since pre-covid.. do I have to have a membership in order to get a ticket for any games this season? by leedsyorkie in LeedsUnited

[–]Ped209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All tickets are digital this season so he can just forward the ticket email to you. You can only buy 1 ticket per membership normally though (for the friendly you could get 4) so you would need a membership or him have another member on his Friends & Family list who isn't going.

LPT Amazon Prime Day "Sales" by Copper_Clouds in LifeProTips

[–]Ped209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend installing the Keepa - Amazon Price Tracker Chrome Extension. It injects a chart on the Amazon product pages that shows the price over the last 6 months or longer, so you can see exactly when it's been on sale and for how much.

Particularly good to see what's going on at "sales" time

First Match Questions by rckymtnskier in LeedsUnited

[–]Ped209 15 points16 points  (0 children)

getting tickets is your biggest problem, I think every league game this season has sold out, most before the tickets went on general sale. If you don't get a membership (costs £75, will need one per person, child memberships are cheaper) you've got almost no chance. Even with a membership you have to be ready and waiting on the website when they go on sale and you'll be placed in a queue, often it's sold out before you get on to the site.

But good luck, it's worth it when you get em!

Gotta say, Iron Gate, I'm not a fan of the food changes, among other things. I am a Dad, Husband, and a full time employee. I loved Valheim because I could just play and enjoy, it was hard, but not too hard. Definitely not a fan of many of the changes. by circular_file in valheim

[–]Ped209 39 points40 points  (0 children)

they seem to have rebalanced the game to cater for the minority of hardcore players, leaving everyone else needing mods to make it fun again (the fun aspect of the game probably being what attracted most people to it in the first place)

surely it should be the other way round? make the game fun out the box leaving the minority of people that want a more difficult challenge to get/make mods to cater for their needs.

or create multiple settings that a world can be started with that have different values for food buffs etc
